The Djoker is in the House!

With less than 48 hours to go before the start of the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank, many of the top players of the ATP World Tour have arrived in Montreal to get ready for our Masters 1000 event.

Among those spotted was world no. 4 Novak Djokovic. The 2007 Rogers Cup champion hit the courts earlier this morning as he prepares for his first hard court event of the summer. A trio of Frenchmen have also made their first appearance at Uniprix Stadium including world no. 9 Gilles Simon, Paul-Henri Mathieu and Jeremy Chardy.

Defending Rogers Cup champion Rafael Nadal landed in Montreal on Wednesday night and is expected on site in the coming days.

Let the games begin!

Not necessary. Polansky or Bruno are not the most popular names among Canadians. If Dancevic and/or Niemeyer is/are playing, they will probably get the night match, especially if they play vs Americans.

For whatever reason, when I click the link for the draw, it's not there anymore

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, all day the only thing i was hoping for from this draw was that Roddick wouldn't be in his quarter,so naturally i'm delighted .Ok,havn't looked at the rest of the draw, are there any lurkers before Roddick??
Also, has Nadal got Ferrer first match back? that's a bit ouch
The other side of the draw is a lot easier,Roddick and Delpo are by far the toughest quarters,i expect to see a Murray-Fed semi and God knows what from the bottom half(just please not a repeat of Indian Wells )

As for his first round,it might make a night match if he's playing Tuesday but i seriously doubt it would Wednesday when all the big names will be playing, either way Sky will show highlights the following day

Nole and Dusan should be to strong for Rafa in the doubles seeing that Vemic is one of the best on the doubles scene but it will be fun to watch the two of them pit their wits against each other again even if it is just doubles. In the singles it is a good second round draw :smash: but from there it gets a bit tougher, hopefully Levine can knock that one trick pony Isner out :rolls:, but even if he doesn't I'm confident Novak will find a way past him one way or another :bigwave:

Nice one. :yeah: It's been a while since I last saw him smiling and being so confident, wishing his work to pay off on court. Nole seems to have regained his mental strenght by dealing with his losses and he finally realized that the pressure is "a private fight" that he must handle.

Did he say anything of interest,i can't watch TTV

He says after Wimbledon he took 2 weeks off which he really enjoyed, and then over 2 weeks hard practice.

He still talks about the Madrid tourney, saying the match with Nadal took a lot out of him mentally, and he realises that is why he didn't do so well at RG, and probably at Wimby too, where he had hoped to progress further.

He says he's looking forward to hardcourt season because it's his favourite surface, and especially loves Montreal as he has good memories of the place. They ask him if all the media hype about Federer and Nadal helps him to fly under the radar and relieve pressure, and he says that EVERY high-ranked player has to face pressure, so not really, because at the end of the day it's "all in your head" how you deal with it.

He seems cool and calm enough :) Hoped that helped.

K - I commend your patience with TTC. Out of interest, how much do they charge please, per month?

With my cable provider, I can't just buy one station. TTC comes with a package of 60 channels. That service costs me $14.95/mo, which breaks down to $.25/channel if you want to look at it that way but it's all or nothing. And I do watch a lot of the other channels among the 60, though the TTC was the main reason I wanted it. It's also good for my love of hockey since I get a station called Versus, which shows some games, and the NHL network.

And I actually do appreciate TTC since they kind of do the best they can with a limited budget. I just get ticked off from time to time. I want live tennis!

Strewth - but that's cheap. Does that include NFL and Fox soccer?

Sky Sports here is £19 a month - that's a premium bundle of 4 sports channels which includes tennis, soccer, cricket etc. But we also have to pay £15 a month for the basic Sky satellite package as well in order to be able to top up to the sports package. So you're looking at £34 per month all in. Plus your broadband costs - ours is £25 per month for fast cable 10mb.

Definitely a luxury in short.

My cable provider doesn't even has TTC. I need to switch to Satellite. Todd Martin is Mardy Fish's coach (at least for sometime)

Girls, please don't tell me you really don't know who's Todd Martin :tape:

Nope. I am that kind of tennis fan that guys like Glenn tease because they know nothing about teniis. What can I do? Montreal 2007 was the very FIRST tournament I saw. :bounce:

It's good that Polansky pushes Nole today. Nole will have a much tougher match vs Misha or Isner in next round. He really needs to shake off all the rust, pronto!
