Where Was Everyone During Wimbledon?

When one of the youngest mens Wimbledon finals ever was staged?

Why are we using the US Open oldies final as a staple of the ATP, and not this?

Its the year of extremes:
The oldest final vs the youngest final
The least predictable winner (Johansson) vs the most predictable winner (Hewitt)

It made for quite a year already. :D
GO ATP! ;)

The year of extremes? I like that much better than the year of Mr Nobody, which Hewitt thankfully ruined in July :D

I dunno, I would have rather liked Nalbandian winning the Wimbly title.

YAY year of nobodies! With the possible exception of RG :o

Well apparently Costa fits the "nobody" label, so Roland Garros fit the year of nobodies :o

Its is Hewitt and Sampras who had to ruin it for us :fiery:

I forgot about all the Wimbledon semifinalists didnt' I?

Xavier, Tim, Lletyon, David - average age roughly 22 - Tim bumps it up a year :p

So how come I keep hearing that the young guys on the ATP aren't performing in slams?

Why do we look at ONE tournament as the staple of all things that be on the ATP?

If we are going to form an opinion on something, should we not consider all the facts first?

Australian Open Semifinalists: Haas, Safin, Thomas, Jiri - average age about 23-24.

Two of them were under the age of 23.

French Open semifinalists - Ferrero, Safin, Costa, Corretja

average ago roughly 24.

8 of 16 semifinalists in slams this year were under that age of 23.

well that final was not a commercial for the standard of the atp!

No irma, I didn't say it was.

The mens final at Wimbledon rather sucked in quality IMO.

But my point is you can't take one tournament and say "that's the tour".

My point had nothing to do with the actually match.

Yeah, the Hewitt-Henman semi final was much more interesting than the actual final

Only to see Henman getting spanked and the death of Henmania :D

the death of Henmania

will you say Britains finaly gave up their hope for good ? :D

Nope as long as Sue Barker and his other worshippers are around the british public will always think there's a chance although loads of us are starting to realise the truth
I'm not Henman bashing cos I quite like him but I think that out tv commentators build up false hopes for the british public

Poor Tim

Sorry, I was admiring those great Lleyton and Kim pictures ;)

Seriously though, I agree with you totally... Pete vs. Andre isn't the norm, it's the exception!

I think Tim should skip Wimby next year and say that they're not seeding him properly. :D

lol @ Lily :D

Greg and Tim should boycott

Tim because he isn't seeded properly, and Greg because he has no interest in playing some tournament that some washed up nobody has won 7 times:cool:
