Anyone have special rituals for when watching favourites?

Personally, i have this really weird habit of turning of the volume when someone i'm supporting is losing. I have no idea why, its just something i've developed.

Anyone else do similar things?

I pace and shout at the TV a lot, like I'm a coach he can hear, I tell him what he's doing wrong and what he should be doing.

Muzza and I have got the C'MONs virtually synched now. We both tend to let rip at exactly the same time :)

Heheh, this is embarrassing but I play a match using my Nadal character in Wii Sports before each of his matches to give him good luck.

also playing Virtua tennis while the match is on (doing the 1-2 -Serve-Forehand-Combo- with Moya )

Well, I think that if I'm not at least watching the live score of Rafa's matches, if not watching the match itself... he will lose.

When I watch Rafa play I am nervous and sometimes walk when I am alone and I drink a lot of water. Sometimes I jump off my chair when he wins an important point. Things like that :p

Not really, I will usually scream at my tv and jump around like a 5 year old if Nadal or Federer lose but that's pretty much it.

I play tennis in the same room while watching, too nervous to sit down most of the time so I keep hitting with the wall and sit down and watch in the important times or when any rally goes for a while, I also tend to scream "YES!" alot.

I've actually improved my strokes alot with this wall hitting habit

Is funny, like the other poster mentioned. If there is a particular player that I would like to see doing well, I feel that I will help him just by watching it and cheering it on. if I don`t that must be why his perfomanced was lacking....

I have the same thing when I want a match and want it to get interesting. Is like if I pay enough attention the rallies will start to get better and the quality of play will improve. Sometimes talking to the players, congratulating them on a shots, like saying out loud `wow amazing` or when they are strugling telling it to wake up... but that`s rare. I rather just pay attention and be abserbed by the action. Rather than just reacting to it.

I got mine a Cracker Barrel. I make up stories with him, I write down his made up results from the animal world. the animal Frenc open was 3 weeks ago, Federbear lost in the quarters to #1 Roitmanbear in a 5 set thriller. He told me this in tears

I clap 2 times from each side of my hand when an important point comes. I have couches for Pair side, and others for the advantage side, depending on how the previous points are coming depends where i sit. In very important points i stand up and shout and then clap very loud until my hand are almost red, and then if the point is won I shout even louder. If the match is at night my father has threatened me to go and live alone if i keep doing this.
This is not a joke, its 100% serious.

Very funny indeed.

I used to talk to the television during matches, not ranting or anything, more like just commentating, like 'that looked out', etc... but my other half, who hates tennis, thought I might be insane, so I stopped doing that. Now I just mutter quietly under my breath. :)

Before a big match I sometimes consult the magic 8 ball to find out in advance who's going to win. It's amazing how accurate it is.

I don't do anything too special during matches. I did wear all white during the Wimbledon final last year. I guess the only thing I do during matches is stand up and stand really close to the TV during important points.

I have a Federbear and a Bull Rafa cap on my bookshelf, I hug one or wear the other when each one is playing, when they are playing each other I just cannot stay still watching the game, I go to the bathroom, to the kitchen, to my bedroom, and then I come back to watch the game and the cycle starts again :o

When Janko or Marcos is playing, some form of live scoring has to be up on my computer at all times, even if I'm gone or watching it on TV. doesnt matter.

I also have a Federbear which I sit on the couch when Rogi is playing. If Roger is doing well, I leave Federbear where he is..... if Roger is playing badly, I move Federbear to a different place to see if this brings good luck. When Roger plays really badly, I hurl Federbear across the room. Federbear only comes out for finals....

I sometimes break rulers when my favs are in a save-BP situation and they fail (yes I have that many) :o

With Fed if he is playing well throughout a match I just sit back and relax (doesn't happen very often nowadays though :o) and when he's spraying errors I just walk to the window and stare at some random people outside, trying to forget the match is going on. :o Then seconds later I have a peek at the score and act accordingly.

Oh and I let some steam out in the cheering and chat threads in here.

When he wins a tourney, I give the Federbear a hug too. :awww: :o

Yeah, I have a bad habit of yelling for the opponent of who I'm rooting for to double fault on a second serve. I'd be a wonderful live spectator.

These for me. I've also gotten into the habit of throwing the remote across the room and cursing the loss of the set when Fed fails to convert points for a double break against Rafito.

Federbear is made by Ty... who do lots of toys. I saw them in shops in NZ that sell Ty ( beanie toys mostly) products, but you can get them fromhttp://www.plushfriends.com/t40480.html . I think they must be available in Aust. shops
