Davydenko just too solid for the real Swiss #1. Stani had some treatment on his foot in the 3rd set.

Expected one to be honest, well done Nikolay, tough one next with Verdasco but if Davydenko can play well i see no reason why he cant get to the quarters.

No surprise, Donkey is extremely tough on clay.

When the PMK decides to play, the timing of the groundies and the movement is high quality.

I like both of them and I suppose Kolya will do better further on if he's fit, which seems to be the case. Stan  What a killer of the half of a quarter

Saw it live. Was a great match for the first 10 games or so. After Stan let Denko off a break point in the 6th or 7th game with only his second FH UE at the time, he just lost it and started spraying forehands everywhere, Fed style. Davydenko also cleaned his game up big time after that, making hardly any UEs at all in the first two sets apart from the couple of BH ones right at the start.

Something was wrong with Stan's leg in the 3rd and it was clear he couldnt move, so he just blasted everything and missed more than he hit.

1 racket smashed, but clearly he is the swiss #2 even in racketsmashing :)

thanks for that - I was wondering what happened to Stan because it seem like he couldn't do anything halfway through the 3rd set onwards, like he didn't put up any fight.

ah, still waiting for a good run by stan in a big tournament... maybe next time. maybe...

I call Davydenko Mr Reliable because in the majors he usually performs well without people even talking about him.
