Kohli :yeah: 4th match in a row in which lost tie-break set but won the match.

Ferrero is a funny RG champion. After his triumph in Paris, hasn't even reached 4th round in six another attempts

Match was suspended yesterday at 2-2 in sets.

5-set record: Kohlschreiber 5-3; Ferrero 19-14.

No surprise in this result, Kohli these days is a better player than Ferrero.

ferrero is really done...once a year he has a good week , but that's all...after his prime he never came close to where he was

Go Kohli

Some way too harsh comments about Ferrero in this thread. I think he's actually shown progress this year.

Ferrero is just a major clown. Can't even win a match Klownschreiber loves to lose - when he's a favorite.

It can be very tough to come out the next day and play the deciding set. You know you must not screw it up and be sharp from the beginning.

Kohli said he slept very bad...of course, he was thinking about the match all the time with the upcoming fifth set firmly in his mind.
I can imagine that, so well done Kohli. :)

Poor JCF, probably ran out of gas. I don't think it's a particularly bad match-up for him but after losing two tight matches in Auckland Kohli seems to have the mental edge.

It's a real shame. A match with Djokovic would have been good.

How does an athlete run out of gas to play one single set?

You're just delusional.

Ferrero said he's going to finish career if he won't appear in Top 100 at the end of the year.

Well, I think he will make it to the Top 100. It'd be a travesty if he didn't, really. But whether he will ever be Top 40 again is a whole different question.

I'll be definitely cheering for that not to happen.

Ferrero said he's going to finish career if he won't appear in Top 100 at the end of the year.
He said his ranking at the end of the year will affect his decision. It's not the same as he will definitely retire if he's out of top 100 in December.
Btw, I didn't know you were a fan of Kohli. Good for you.

Yes, he has absolutely no point to defend until autumn because of the injuries last year. It's most likely he will end the year well inside top 100 if he stays healthy.

It's a pity he lost, but I'm sure he still has more good tennis in him.

I've written my interpretation of his words.

Not a fan, like his game don't like his facial expression, I don't like Ferrero generally so for me is always nice to see when he loses a match.

Here is the exact fragment:

Ferrero revealed afterwards that he is contemplating retirement at the end of the season, saying:
"It will depend on my ranking, my physical condition and my motivation. From a tennis point of view everything is fine, but as far as motivation is concerned there are ups and downs. We will see if I am in the top 100 or outside. That will affect my decision."

To be fair to JCF, he was injured for two of those 6 attempts since he won it.

Either way, i hope he gives it his best until the end of the season. He's got hardly anything to defend so he could get around the top 50 with a couple of good results.

In retrospect, the loss isn't so bad. At least JCF took two sets and didn't lose in straight sets like Djokovic. ;)

You do that then. I just want him to whatever will make him happy, and if thats retirement, then I'll be happy for him. Tennis for me won't be the same without him, thats for sure:sad:
