it was completely discusting match to watch, Almagro pretty much gave that match to Verdasco...huh? He made very very bad errors all the time.

well, I for one think that was an entertaining match, especially the ending and those 9 match points

Almagro lacks match practice, and it showed. He can barely hit a simple putaway to save his life at the moment. That said, he wouldn't even have been in a position to win this one if Verdasco had kept his concentration in several key moments.

Well at least the right score this time. Pitty for Almagro, played out of his mind on those 8 MP he saved not afraid to go for broke, but made stupid errors when he had the chance to win the 3rd set.
Verdasco went for high percentage on first serves (88%). Almagro couldn't take advatage of those slow and safe first serves.

Almagro was serving for the second set.

nah, it was entertaining... huge bh by cabezón but too many fh UE, huge unreliable talent. Verdasco couldn't possibly close last two sets, trademark brainfarts. Congrats to him anyway, must focus and fast.

Winner of Kolya/Stan against Nando could well be a very tight match!

Nando, you cost me nerves! ufff. But in fact, who cares tomorrow? :yeah:

6-2, 7-6(4), 7-6(8)*

Exactly, this is correct scoreline.

Congrats Nando :yeah:

Typical Almagro, the worst tie-break player in Top 50. Actually in any other case (excluding Blake), I would have thought a player is going to win at 7:6 in the tie-break after 7 saved match points. Nando needed 9 match points in all, 8 on serve :)

Btw, Molina jumps off from the chair umpire in a good style :yeah:

His first serve % is always high but it's deceiving because most of the time he serves like a woman. I can't be too mad though, at least he's saving energy, but it's so annoying because he's #1 on the leaderboard for serve speeds (a 232km/h bullet). We know what he's capable of, but he doesn't choose to use his serve as a big weapon enough of the time.

Maybe he pushes himself to serve fast when he does and maybe it's fear of getting injured or something. After all, he was injured immediately after the AO semifinal (left foot) and he was serving bullets for most of that one.

In fact, in a way I admire him for it even more because it shows the quality of his groundies if he can win most of his matches (in straight sets no less) serving like a WTA player. :worship:

This is the most sensible post I've seen from this JolanGago. First time I've seen him not chucking pointless rude insults.

Congrats to Verdasco, The Future.

The real deal needed 2 TBs to beat Almugro the bird-brained?

What a ball of nerves, Nando is.... may reconsider being a fan, can't go on another ride after the one Marat's put me through.
