Lets make a petition for ATP to buy livescores from IBM

IBM provides a nice live score service for the Slams. Fast, reliable, nice layout.

Now, why are ATP and WTA still stuck with the terrible protennislive scoreboard? It is painfully slow and gets stuck all the time. ATP and WTA should terminate protennislive and get a deal with IBM instead. That would be a victory for tennis fans all over the world.

i'd rather use a pigeon messenger than rely on eurosport's livescoring

Makes sense, it would be much faster for sure, also better looking. :yeah:

I would rather go to a lady with a crystal ball and ask her for the results.

I agree, IBM's ones are much better than the usual non-GS livescores.

Yeah they are quite slow but it's nice when you are just checking in for results.

IBM is a infinetly better. We need it for at least the masters series events. I also love the updating draw.

I never use the Live Scores thing in Slams, I go to the Matches in Progress section in the site.

i have one complaint about the IBM scoreboard, namely it removes completed matches almost immediately, but the draw section is not updated at the time.

Yes, I have been annoyed by that. The Aussie Open one had completed matches in the corner scrolling by.

IMB still has an annoying glitch. If you click on something from the "select an event below menu" (ie "men's singles") before the matches have loaded up you get the "No matches in progress for your current selection" message. It bugs me.

Anyway, there have been plenty of farces with the IBM sb too. Wrong servers for example. The 2 hour set between Lopez and Muller. Malisse v Llodra in Oz was just a comedy of sb ineptitude from start to finish.

Not sure they could do a better job overall though I'm very paranoid about protennislive and think there's more to some of the freezes than shitty technology so I wouldn't mind seeing an end to them.

I actually prefer regular ATP scoreboards, at least more than the IBM one fors RG this year.
The IBM one is heavy loading and you can't see all the match stats at the same time.
The ATP SB also tell you whether the player serving has had an ace, let, DF or a second serve without us having to look into stats.

That's a new development, at AO and all other slams before, there was one window with all the stats that you could move a bit to the side and keep it open. Not sure who's genius idea was to have you scroll through each individual stat :retard:

How on earth can you prefer a scoreboard that rarely works properly? You dont care about the actual information on the scoreboard, you just want nice design?

IBMs scoreboard was better before the changes though.

The new scoreboard for Roland Garros is terrible. Not only can you not view all the match stats at the same time, there is no "day's results section" so it's hard to find out the results of a match.
