NOW That's the Blake we're all used to see on a clay court!! :D

But credit to Mayer, he played a phenomenal match, one of the best performances in his career.

Yep, he looked beaten near the end of the 2nd.

The cooler conditions helped Mayer, but he was very aggressive and didn't allow Blake to dictate. This plus Mayer moves a lot better on the surface and didn't get his backhand exposed.

He took it on the 4th match point, good result.

Just like Fish, Blake did moderately well at the warm-up events but failed miserably at Roland Garros.

Great win for Leo Mayer though. The next generation of Argie players is slowly replacing the older one.

Blake just needs to retire; he's such a awste of space. He looked defeated from the very first point.

when was the last time Blake was a main player on any event?
the guy is just hanging in there, a glorified journeyman

James - you useless mug. You never even got to a AO/USO semifinal. What a loser.

Thank god Blake will soon be retired - the less of these uni-dimensional ball bashers the better. The only way James can go deep into an event is on DecoTurf. :o

He was "the man" during the 2006 US Open. Heck even took a set off Federer!

This leaves Tsonga as the only contender for the title.

James :smash: I knew from the middle of the 1st set that he would lose in straights if he didn't make at least some adjustments... and he didn't. I thought he could've at least made it to round 2.

All credit to Leo - he did a great job and was practically dominant on serve. Great GS debut. :yeah:

No kidding. I've been trying to think of someone that the bottom fell out like this and I'm drawing a blank. I mean this guy is just dropping like a rock.
He had no confidence from the first ball and it was funny listening to Pmac bracing the audience that Blake could lose to this guy.
I was thinking, no shit, so why do you keep sending him out there.

I actually think not picking Blake for Davis Cup would be a good idea. Not getting picked for the team would not being taken easily by him (he hasn't in the past), and it may inspire him to work harder and change his game.

Leo Mayer played a great match!! he needs to learn to be pacient.. and he has certain talent, but he is just not ready to make great noise.. :p no bandwagon alert yet :p

He was "the man" during the 2006 US Open. Heck even took a set off Federer!

i remember that match..roger choked a 5-3 lead in the third set , blake went to tie break and won 7-6.. that was still junk ..roger won in 4 comfortable sets

Blake was only good for roasting rafa :D

I think Mayer deserves lots of credit, i watched the whole match through BBC interactive and he was awesome just bashing winners all over the place and serving well, he also had good nerve and so well done to him as opposed to critisising James
