RG R1: Lopez def Ferreiro 6-7 (3) 4-6 7-6(4) 7-5 6-2

Well, probably Ferreiro was pumped and winning in the baseline in the first two sets, bua after losing tie break he got tired and Lopez experience in 5 sets plus better physical shape helped him.
Lopez with 30 aces. :worship:

Credit to Ferreiro for putting up a fight :yeah:

05-25-2009, 05:04 PM
Ferreiro was very close to win, sadly the lack of experience ended up costing him the match.

Lalo is da man, I watched until 2-0 and it looked like it is over and now this.

Ferreiro was almost dying on the last set

Lalo is always hard to take down in slams, same with his next opponent, Tipsy/Lalo could well be another five setter :bounce:

05-25-2009, 05:41 PM
hey, the Armada boys are quite hard to take down on best of five ;)
Vamos Feli!!! :D

05-25-2009, 05:55 PM
well played in the first and second set Ferreiro :yeah:

Franco :( Wasted chance :( Still a great RG for him, continuing a good showing on clay this year.

Ferreiro, Ferrero, Federer, Ferrer, Ferreira... they should team up! :)

quite the entertainer this brazilian.

he was out on his feet in the fifth. he paused before serving at 2-4 d to animatedly beckon in the direction of a passing ambulance siren.

Franco :bigcry:

05-25-2009, 06:31 PM
Yeah, Franco is entertaining, but the entertainment factor is directly related to his fragile state of mind on court :tape:

Oh Ferreiro what a great chance to make way. Now keep this form, and start playing full time on ATP events, where your skills belong boy....

What was the match time?

Gah, I thought Ferreiro had a good chance at the upset, and he came so close. :awww:

However, there was always a possibility that Lalo would come back...not as if he had lost either of the first two sets by much (irrespective of the scoreline). Great at coming back, and very strong in a (advantage) 5th set...with his serve, would surely have had the advantage, as he did. I guess Ferreiro was made to pay for lack of experience in distance matches.

Anyway, credit for the comeback Lalo, and should be an interesting R2 against Tipsy.

Congrats to Feli:)

What a couple of sets from LaLo at the beginning :haha: :worship:

05-25-2009, 07:42 PM
Btw, Lalo only won cause:

1) Ferreiro is a mug
2) Ferreiro was dead tired from the 4th set onwards

05-25-2009, 08:07 PM
How come anyone thought Ferreiro had a chance?

05-25-2009, 08:47 PM
How come anyone thought Ferreiro had a chance?

Wow, pretty idiot the ones who thought that, right? Come on, he was 2 sets up and was very close to win. Don't say such a bullshit.
