I thought it was Wertheim that picked Montañes as well. miura 05-25-2009, 03:49 PM Gutted. I had Montanes nailed as the victor  roberthenman 05-25-2009, 03:50 PM poor Albert  Tennis-Engineer 05-25-2009, 03:50 PM Match of the day. habibko 05-25-2009, 03:50 PM dedicated to Bodo and all the tennis experts clowns :smash: Goldenoldie 05-25-2009, 03:56 PM An interesting result for Murray fans perhaps. Sapeod 05-25-2009, 03:57 PM Montanes should've won this. Guess Tipsy makes it to the 2nd round again. Will he make the 3rd round  Radalek 05-25-2009, 04:04 PM An interesting result for Murray fans perhaps. Well, shame that this wasn't on court with cameras cos it was fantastic match, at the end of the 3rd Tipsarevic had something like 52-12 W/UE ratio...Montanes played very well but Janko was simply on fire... dragon.serbia 05-25-2009, 04:07 PM Stats looks unreal - 77/69 winners and 15/15 unforced errors 201184 Har-Tru 05-25-2009, 04:19 PM oh albert... Radalek 05-25-2009, 04:19 PM Stats looks unreal - 77/69 winners and 15/15 unforced errors 201184 77/15 for Janko, 69/15 for Montanes...not sure if we should trust this.... Ilovetheblues_86 05-25-2009, 04:28 PM Tipsarevic wins when he´s the underdog against limited opponents. zlaja777 05-25-2009, 04:32 PM Tipsarevic wins when he´s the underdog against limited opponents. True. zlaja777 05-25-2009, 04:32 PM No, I saw statistics after the game - Tipsy 58(including serves)winners 15 UE, Albert 51 winners 15 UE...still very impresive. Match of the day for sure. aeronatasha 05-25-2009, 04:36 PM So pissed I couldn't watch this. So happy for Janko! :bounce: Manon 05-25-2009, 05:06 PM Disaster. Montanes should win it. chowdahead25 05-25-2009, 05:14 PM Janko!!! dragon.serbia 05-25-2009, 05:18 PM No, I saw statistics after the game - Tipsy 58(including serves)winners 15 UE, Albert 51 winners 15 UE...still very impresive. Match of the day for sure. That stats is also very impressive :worship: tennisfan444 05-25-2009, 05:20 PM I agree, Janko does best when the odds are against him. Its when the odds are in his favor that for some reason he often crumbles. His game is 85 percent mental philosophicalarf 05-25-2009, 05:22 PM Winners/ues at roland garros seem to be decided by chimps rolling dice. Not an enormously surprising result - you never know which Tipsy will turn up, but when he's hitting the ball cleanly on a relatively quick clay court, he can get Montanes on the back foot. Tipsy did it to Montanes in Barcelona, as did Melzer in Madrid. Montanes has some interesting results patterns - when he's a moderate dog he's absolutely outstanding (wins 2/3rds odds 2.0 to 2.5), and as a strong favourite he's ultra-reliable. When a moderate fav, as he was today...... not so good. Something in the pre-match psychology I guess, can't motivate himself to the same level, but it's a pretty consistent thing over the years. El Legenda 05-25-2009, 05:22 PM Stats looks unreal - 77/69 winners and 15/15 unforced errors 201184 those stats are not correct... Voo de Mar 05-25-2009, 05:41 PM Montanes in the SF :retard: CooCooCachoo 05-25-2009, 06:00 PM Albert :smash: Guy Haines 05-25-2009, 06:38 PM Montanes in the SF :retard: I know. :o I like watching Albert play on clay, but getting touted as a semifinalist by Bodo and Wertheim was beyond Bud Collins-caliber as a kiss of death. tennishero 05-25-2009, 07:09 PM good win biological 05-25-2009, 10:26 PM Janko :woohoo: :worship: FedFan_2007 05-25-2009, 10:33 PM Peter Bozo looks like an idiot again. Why does anyone listen to him? BHAMACE 05-25-2009, 11:08 PM Bravo Janko! NyGeL 05-26-2009, 12:05 AM seems like winning at Dusseldorf made Tipsy very confident. Looking at stats seems like this could be the best R1 match! GlennMirnyi 05-26-2009, 01:08 AM Tipsarevic wins when he´s the underdog against limited opponents. Not only against limited opponents. Tipsarevic is very very dangerous when he's the underdog. chowdahead25 05-26-2009, 01:10 AM I think Tipsarevic could very well upset Murray and make it as far as the quarters (draw would bring probably cilic or stepanek in 4th) if he plays as well as he did today, and if Murray is a bit off. Wishful thinking, but hey, he'd be the underdog:D ChinoRios4Ever 05-26-2009, 01:55 AM Montanes in the SF :retard: Vamos Jon Wertheim  ClaudiuS 05-26-2009, 01:58 AM Never in doubt. Montañes was overrated after he won Estoril and defeating clay mugs like Blake, Simon and Crapdeville. TennisViewer531 05-26-2009, 02:00 AM So much brouhaha over Montanes' previous claycourt success and now he lost.. too bad. HattonWBA 05-26-2009, 07:16 AM Excellent win for Tipsy especially against a grinder like Albert having been a set down, lopez next so good chance of 3rd round DartMarcus 05-26-2009, 07:47 AM Janko :worship: Lopez will get tipsareviched  leng jai 05-26-2009, 07:52 AM Not only against limited opponents. Tipsarevic is very very dangerous when he's the underdog. Being the underdog has nothing to do with it, its the spectacles. Merton 05-26-2009, 09:52 AM This could go either way but it is a slight surprise for me it didn't go 5 sets. | |
