Oh yep. Only 2 losses this year to players outside the Top 4. Yep, right, just luck. ;)

Not to mention Almagro and Davydenko or Wawrinka. :scared: Rafa seems like an age away at the moment.

No way he reaches the quarters. Wawrinka or Almagro will beat him

I think he'll handle Almagro (he's never even lost a set to him before). As for the 4R, we'll see. I wouldn't count him out though, especially not against Stanislas.

No point in talkin' about future rounds; match at a time; can only play, and beat, his current opponent, and he did nicely today. :D

Ever since he got the confidence bust, he is doing quite well against those whom he isn't afraid of. Therefore I still consider him as a favorite in that 1/8, despite the fact it is a hardest one. Unfortunately, whenever he faces big boys he starts to play safe and lose the only advantage he has over "regular" guys - his power play.

it's not like he can hurt the likes of Fed or Nadal with his power play anyway, unless they were totally off at the day.

Serra is the worst player in the top 100, completely useless.

:retard:

Verdasco's power play is good enough to hurt ANYBODY on tour.

Nicely done Fernando, nice easy wins to rest your energy for the 2nd week. Poor guy needs to stop drawing Nadal in the quarters, though.:(

Verdasco's set record against Federer and Nadal: 3-25

Verdasco's record against Federer and Nadal 0-12

So, no, apparently it is not.

Having the weapons to hurt players does not equal beating them period. It means they have the skills/capabilities to take it to anybody on tour and have a shot at winning. Verdasco has that.

That would manifest itself in some halfway decent results here and there if it were true. All Verdasco has (against the sport's supremacy, Nadal and Federer) is Australia.

Even Roddick's record against Federer and Nadal (sets and victories) looks superhuman compared to Verdasco's.

Verdasco is a cool guy, and a heck of a player, but he is overrated IMO.

An onfire Almagro could beat him because lets face it when Nicolas turns up its incredible shot making just like fernado at current, however right now i cant see verdasco not making the semis, wawrinka and almagro are too eratic and even davydenko is questionable in regards to fitness right now
