Since there are so many Fedal threads, time for a change of scene. Here is around a 10 minute interview with Peter Lundgren where he talks about Federer, Baghdats, Rios and Safin plus coaching in general.

It's an interesting insight, especially in the development of Federer and with Rios.

What? A fan? You mean you want to see a fan?

A fan keeps people cool. See what I did there? Now that's a proper MTF post.

Parts of the video had gave the impression of a priest revealing secrets from the confessional. Hitting a little under the belt to say your former charge (Rios) needs a psychiatrist, even if it is true.

lol yeah I noticed that little bit of DivaFed there. But still it's remarkable he was able to transform from the bratty kid who had to be removed from the courts so he wouldn't disrupt others to a calm, collected champion that ruthlessly dispatched his opponents.

Good stuff George, nice find.

That's the key, yes there is still DivaFed under the surface which comes through now and then, but he would not have achieved what he has, if he wasn't able to control it for the most part.

Sigh only furthers my disappointment in Marcos. If he loses some weight and get fit and healthy he really belongs in Top 10 to me. He backed up that slam final with a semi at Wimbledon and then choked to Agassi under the lights and that draw was weak had he won Becker made the R4 of that section. He should have took off after '06.

In the video it does say Aegean, so that might indicate Greekness.

It was Gilbert that did the coaching of Boggo.

Was the interview basically around the time you posted it (trying to figure out timing)? Thanks for posting! I have been thinking about Lundgren a lot since the French Final.... I knew he would have been emotional about it. :)

Good video. Lundgren is a good coach. Coaches are often overrated in my view but Lundgren is an exception.

I wonder if Fed is saying "he is lucky" today. Seriously Peter did an excellent job laying the ground work for the player that Federer has become.

I imagine he will take some pride in the work he did with Federer.
