Will any-1 be able 2 get Live Scores from the Matches?

Emeraldhands
08-01-2009, 04:26 PM
I was wondering the same thing about the live scores. I wonder how they decide which events have them and which ones don't. Vancouver is a 100,000$ Challenger which is twice as much this week's Granby and they have live scores.

Tennis B.C. announced Friday it is granting a wild card into the men's main draw to North Vancouver's Philip Bester, the former French Open junior singles finalist

Story (http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/VanOpen+reputation+evolving/1852830/story.html)

Not too surprising when he wasn't in the qualy draw.

As for the live scores, I can't remember any of the USTA CH events this year having them, so I'd be surprised to see them here. There should be "occasional updates" on the tournament twitter feed (http://twitter.com/vanopen).

Reading comprehension is obviously not your strength
First, I answered your question. He is still out there because he has had some very solid success, obviously enjoys it, and has the money to do it.
Second, I commented that he has had an impressive pro career for someone with such limited college success. I really don't see how you can argue this. It is a good achievement for any college player to become a regular challenger player. But for someone who never won a single match in the NCAA single championships, it is downright amazing.
Take his Duke teammate Philip King, for example. Two time Kalamazoo 18s champion and four year All-American. He's been on the tour for as long as Yani and his career high is lower than Yani's current ranking.

look pumpkin, the only reason he has been out there for 6 fricking years is because of his parents you twat, him and Monroe have been grinding it forever. If this is what he wants to do, then more power to him, but if it takes you 6 years to crack top 300 and youre pushing 30, then maybe tennis is not this guys calling. There were much better Duke players that couldve made it on the tour but chose not to, but this spoiled twat has the resources to continue to play.

You logic is pretty accurate, if only Davydenko agreed and retired from tennis after a career high of 510, I mean he had no hope right? Quitting would have been smartest.

Wow, Duclos winning was a much bigger shock to me than Bester winning but both are great results.
I don't understand why Duclos win was a surprise? Duclos has been on fire lately, beating 3 seed Evans in Granby and lots of other good results. Anderson is tired and just got lucky against some weeker players in breakers. Not a great year for Kevin. Sweeting's loss was very surprising, considering he was up 6-1, 3-1

Ozone
08-06-2009, 03:47 AM
Maybe I missed something, but why is he a "twat" and a "douchebag"? So what, his family is wealthy and he was able to follow his passion, even if he hasn't been particularly successful at it? What's the big deal? Don't hate on him because he was a lucky sperm.
:worship:

Hey studmuff, don't be hating on my boy Michael. He was just a late-bloomer. To not play top 6 at Duke and then qualify for Wimby and have other great results in his career is amazing. I honestly do not understand why his ranking keeps coming back to 250. He has consistently good results:confused: He rarely goes out round 1 of a challenger. At least this year.

Evans isn't excatly a good 3rd seed, and I say that with a lot of love, I'm a big fan of the guy.

Duclos never really beats anyone who he 'shouldn't' beat and rarely losses to people who he 'should' beat. He kinda plays to his ranking, very consistant but rarely spectacular.

As for Bester, he has a shitload of talent, it just seems like he can't put it together, but he is a very talented young man so these wins should be happening, he should be better than Sweeting, if oyu look back in this thread, I said I like Philip's chances against Sweeting before the match. Against Baghdatis, I don't think he will do too well, but I hope so.

Anderson & De Voest [RSA] d. Delgado & Van't Hof [PAR/USA, Q] 6-4 6-4 (played indoors)

The women's final also had two sets of 6-4 6-4, clearly a lucky scoreline

Nice week for Marcos and the South Africans :yeah:
