Stani saved 3 match points in this and had the crowd behind him, but that doesn't excuse the *3-1 lead he had in the 3rd set.

Was Wawrinka 3:1 up in the final set?

fuck, stan, what a waste.

starting off well, but what the fuck happened in the second and third set? handing out UEs like it was christmas. he just didn't know when to keep it simple - just kept going for the difficult shot even when he knew he had made couple of cheap errors with those shots.

heartbreak . just - aaaargh!!!

0:40 on his service and one on service of del potro.so 4 match points.

Too bad for Stan, he paid dearly for his lapses at the beginning of set 2 and bombing his break lead at the 3rd set.

Yep, after that it is an obligatory polo.

Was Wawrinka 3:1 up in the final set?

He was, he had a meltdown.

That point with Stan serving at *3-5 30-40 3rd set was amazing

Was Del Potro auditioning for an Incredible Hulk sequel with that celebration? When he pumped his fist towards the dirt I thought he was going to cause a localised earthquake.

Same sequence of mini-chokes from Wawrinka as usual. Get on top, drop off from top form, gain ascendancy again when parity is established, then choke again, then fight back...

He was, he had a meltdown.

Del Potro's win over Nadal from two breaks down was amazing important for him. Before that match he couldn't win a match even after break down in the final set, I suppose he used that experience today against Wawrinka.

Why?

Armpit hair for one.

He remained fairly calm, but still Wawa deserves all the credit for that.

The only people who consider sleeveless shirts tasteful are the people who wear them.

Even with a bit more muscle, Potro still reminds me of a baby giraffe. Sleeveless shirts just make him look sillier.

Wawrinka is not consistent enough. Came up against a mentally stronger guy who even had an off day and still ended up battered and bruised. He's not gonna have many wins against Del Potro in his career.

:yeah: Congratulations Delpo!!!
As I always say, Juan is very tall and he doesn't look too smart, but he keeps pushing the limits. Over-achieved but still achieving! :hearts: his mental strength. Vamos Juan in QF!!
