Solid from Pico, he definitely had a few breaks go his way in this match and Fergus Murphy was very busy in this match.

Good use of the wildcard, up next Verdasco for him.

Outstanding from Pico, not that his game is right back where it was 2 years ago (before the injury), but it is even better.

Excellent Juan Monaco. A very fun player to watch indeed. Not many claycourt specialists around these days.

Yay, but surely he can't beat 3 spaniards in a row in Spain. Can he?

yes he can! If he made them do not look like Spaniards! (that's what he did to Ferrer today).

We have claycourt specialists
We have grass specialists
We have indoors specialists
We even have no-court specialists (how else would you describe Roitman?)

Now we have a new category: Arise Monaco, first of the netcord specialists.

Monaco nauseating lucky in the first set with those netcords. He should go to a casino tonight as I think Koenig said.

The first no court specialist would be Junquiera, as Roitman has won matches on tour. As for the netcord specialists, you are 21 years too late. The man who was the original and the best was the closet boy Boris Becker, this guy won championships on netcords, didn't help he had the ability to win on everything but clay.

Monaco back to his 2007 form. He could be a dangerous floater at Rolanga.

I wouldn't consider the net cord points a luck. It's all up to the way the striker hits the ball.

Case #1: If the ball hits the net cord and fell into the defender's field most of the time, then that tells me that the striker was just little bit below the aiming point. Not great shots, but his "misfire" yielded most of the time because he hit the net cord the way that didn't influence much the end result. So, no luck there.

Case #2: If the ball bounces off the net cord and fell into the striker's field most of the time, then that's the indicator of the shooter not aiming well. Had he been aiming well, then the ball would never hit the net cord. No luck there.
