Last 2 opponents I have never heard of:D

Wow. That's great news for us. Argentina will be dissapointed that Janko will play against a 30 year old ranked outside the top 400 who's highest ever ranking was 230...... So, with that, we should really have a good opportunity to qualify for the final.

Nice, early break for Janko 3*-2.

Tristanslav

Great stuff. Takes the first set 6-2, and only drops 3 points on his serve, despite only having a 42% first serve percentage. 91% on second serve, lol!

6-2 6-3 :bigclap: I hope they can play the final tomorrow :D

Well done Janko! :)

Damn it, the doubles match is at 5pm CET, and I'm leaving home then :(
Hopefully team SRB will win.

Ajde!!!

Ok, here are the possibilities.....

Doubles - Serbia Win - Serbia Qualify for final, with 6 points
- Serbia lose - Serbia and Argentina tie on 4 points, and go to match countback.

Match Countback - If Gonzalez beats Korolev, and ARG beat RUS in the doubles, Argentina will go through
- If Argentina lose both of their matches, Serbia will go through
- If Argentina win one, lose one, it will go to set countback.

Set Countback - If Argentina win both their matches in straight sets, they will go through
- If Argentina drop a set in one of their two matches, and Serbia drop a set, Argentina will go through
- If Argentina drop two sets in their two matches, and Serbia win the doubles in straight sets, Serbia will go through
- If Argentina drop two sets, and Serbia drop one, or Argentina drop one set, and serbia don't drop any, it will go to Game countback.

Game Countback - At the moment, Serbia have a game countback advantage of + 11. Obviously some of this will be wiped out by Gonzalez beating Korolev, if that happens. Basically, Argentina will have to win very, very convincingly to win on game countback, but if it gets to that stage, i'll work it out later.

If Game countback is drawn, Serbia will qualify as they won the head to head meeting.

All Clear ?!!! ;) ;) ;)

All that calculation is looking academic at the moment, as the doubles boys are kicking serious ass, 5-0 first set. Woohoo!!

Tristanslav
05-22-2009, 05:24 PM
ok, now it's simple. Win or they're out, Russia just retired and handed the win to Argentina, so if Serbia lose the doubles, they lose the match countback, 7 to 6.

Great first set display from janko!! Takes it 6-2 and doesn't drop a SINGLE point on his first serve. Incredible. One set away from a great team win!!!! Should give them real confidence going into Paris.
