:woohoo:

3 MPs wasted from Berdych at 6-5, in the first 2 Youzhny played well, in the 3d Berdych chickened

Youzhny was 5-1 up in the TB
good match, getting in good form both of them

Enjoy the BMW, had enough chances to win this before the TB, but Berdman fighting and winning matches is strange enough.

Entertaining match, nice to watch!

Kudos Birdman. :worship: Your image of Choker is slowly fading. It's been taken over by Youzhny I guess (:help:).

However, great week for the both of them! :yeah:

Why would Youzhny choke a four point lead in the tb after saving three mps the game before?

In fact the match can be easliy divided into 2 parts: the one before Misha reached 51 in the tiebreak , the second when he lost it 57. The seconds part was really unexpectable actually.

I would say that Berdych really struggled with confidence when entering that tie-break. He came with really tame (not dangerous) shots in which he made mistakes in the end.

The same way he lost his 3 matchpoints at 65*. Some players are really agressive gaining mps, try to risk but Berdych made something opposite.

At 5*1 something really extraordinary happened. Misha started to hit errors after errors at the point Berdych was down at himself and actually didn't fight at all.

So I wouldn't say he fought till the end.

Nevertherless he played a very good tournament and with the great help of Youzhny got that title.

Dumb ass Youzhny losing to Chokdych expected

scarecrows
05-10-2009, 04:41 PM
Youzhny didnt really use his topspin BH today, he was trying to hit slice all the time, which usually is rather effective against Berdych but not today. Berdych was bending well and was careful on his slices which today seemed to work for a change

Yes, that was the best Misha was playing in a while. Like I said yesterday, these 2 guys have a lot of respect for each other. Colonel beat Berdych 7-6 in the 3rd in Cincinatti and Berdych won the last match before this 6-4 in the 3rd.

Funny what a bit of confidence can do to the movement, Berdych was moving well, but I hope he can actually show some consistency and I don't mean consistent 1st round losses.

OMG. Misha you plonker. So ridiculous. First of all, Berdych is absolutely a player you should beat. Second of all, 5-1 is a lead in a tiebreak you should never lose.

An optimistic week with a tragic and embarrassing end for the Russian. :o I'm made speechless by both Youzhny and Davydenko today. :o :o
