Not before 3pm in ASV stadium :) I'm afraid the schedule isn't better for some of you :awww:

Nole is 3rd on ARANTXA SANCHEZ VICARIO, but not before 3 pm local. I doubt I'll be able to see it unless Murray-Robredo, Fed-Blake don't take long since TTC usually stays with main court. And I don't think streams for the other courts are easy to find, though I haven't done much searching.

http://www.atpworldtour.com/tennis/en/common/TrackIt.asp?file=/1/posting/2009/1536/op.pdf

Nole is also playing doubles tomorrow. 3rd match on Court 5, with play starting at 2 pm.

Hmm - having no luck with live streams tonight. Not promising for watching at work tomorrow.

Come on Andy anyway. This arena seems to have set a record for the number of corporate boxes - looks like the hoi-polloi are way up in the skies. Always gives the impression that no one is there at all...

Hey girls :wavey:

So much to tell you and so little time and strengths... I am trully tired.

But let me get started: if I had to come back home today I could say that it was all owrth it anyway. :D I am just loving it.

So, I got in Cja Magica around 10am and head immediately to the practice courts. We were around for 1 hour moreor less and saw Wawrinka and Chardy practice. :hearts: I like them both, you know. Then, all of the sudden Joao says "Raquel, Djokovic is there" Bump, I heart stopped. :rolls: Watching him for the first time was strange and fantastivc at the same time. 2 things abbout this: Nole does NOT seem thaaaaaaaaat tall = I mean heis tall but I don-t feel that short near him; and the second thing is that he looks exactly the way I used to see him on tv and photos. :inlove: He doesn-t look more handsome or less interesting: just what I expected. :D

So we watchd his practice and when he left the court headed to Central court. We saw the seocnd set of that WTA match .:spit: and then.... Nole again :D

T)he match wasn-t amazing, but still good. Had an amazing time making myself clear that I was chearing for Nole and not the spanish guy, which = I might add = did not please all the spanish people around me. :bolt:

During the afternoon Joáo watched Nadal, while I prefered to watch the Seppi=Boleli vs Parrit.Fisher match. I mean I am going to watch nadal tomorrow, so i wanted to stay in a cosy court and I am glad I did. Parrot :inlove: I was roght behing his seat and I once looked at me begging "please cheer for my team because nobody else is". :rolls: And so I did.

I also got the chance to speak to the umpire of that match who was so nice to me.

After that I watched Nole-s double match!! It was a good one = I know you couldn-t watch it. They played quite well.

During the evening we watched safina vs Li and the first set of Roddick-s match. I must confess I fell asleep in the first set of Safinas match  that was reallly boring, but the secnd set was quite great!!

And now here I am back at my hostel and desperately needing to sleep.

2 things:

1. About Nole, he doesn-t seem like he is having a really great time on court, I could tell that by the doubles maytch. he seems very serious and focus. Which I guess is good. Still, he had his funny moments during the practice and the doubles amtch.

2. I have hundreds of photos to share. :rolls:

Hope everyone is fine.

Miss you all :hug::hug:

PS2: I can-t believe I need to buy another 35€ ticketr just to watch nole tomorrow. :fiery: Why the hell did they have to put him in court 2. That is the only court my tickets do not include.

Not before 3pm in ASV stadium :) I'm afraid the schedule isn't better for some of you :awww:

No - 2.00pm UK time is not great for me :spit: But as I'm already at work (and have been since 6.00am  ), I may grovel to the Boss to not take a break and leave at 2.00pm, in which case I should only miss the first 3 or 4 games - :secret: if I break every speed limit coming home :o

Having looked at the prices of the tickets, and bearing in mind the state of the Spanish economy, I reckon they got it badly wrong. They're just plain greedy - they certainly seem to be paying the price in spectator numbers.

Halve the cost of tickets for the first four days and make centre court admission valid for all courts. Much better to have a fuller stadium and they'd probably make just as much money anyway.

If you think the courts you saw on TV are bad, the outside courts are even worse from where I read from another MTFer's report.

The conditions on small courts are always bad then on the big ones

He thinks ranking points should last over 52 weeks?

It's kind of a rip off winning tournaments without gaining any points for it it's good for lesser players who don't reach the final stages so they can benefit from the top players:rolleyes:

Andy M. ain't happy about what Novak said:rolleyes:his head is getting big now:rolleyes:

Tennis-Murray defends rankings system after Djokovic gripe
By Iain Rogers

MADRID, May 14 (Reuters) - New world number three Andy Murray hit back at number four Novak Djokovic on Thursday after the Serb said the current rankings system was cruel.

Djokovic was leapfrogged by Murray in the rankings on Monday despite landing a second title of the year in Belgrade at the weekend and reaching the last three Masters Series finals.

"There always seem to be problems and now it's obviously the rankings," Murray told a news conference after beating Tommy Robredo in the third round of the Madrid Open.

"It's great that Novak's done well the last few weeks but the first three or four months of the year I played a lot better than him so I think the rankings reflect very well how the guys are playing," the Briton added.

"Until this week I've never heard anyone complain. I think maybe only in the last week it's become a problem for Novak."

Players on the ATP tour have to defend the points they earned during the same week a year earlier, so the reigning champion at an event can only maintain his points tally, not improve it.

"Playing three Masters Series finals in a row and winning a 250 event is incredible success and even then you are dropping a spot down in the rankings," Djokovic said on Wednesday. "That shows how cruel the ranking system is in this sport."

Murray said he had some sympathy for a suggestion by world number one Rafael Nadal for a system that took into account points won over 24 months rather than 12.
I understand what Rafa's saying with the two year thing," Murray said.

"It's kind of like in golf where there's not so much pressure every single week to play."

Murray noted that sometimes players felt obliged to play in mandatory tournaments even if they were carrying injuries. "If they want to make it a longer, more extended period you have your ranking for, I'm happy with that," he said.

"But I don't think it's necessary to change the points structure. They've been doing new things with it all the time so let's just leave it how it is for a while."

I'm still a bit confused on this "ranking point" fiasco. So far, Nole was quoted saying the system is "cruel". Did he ever say it's better the ranking points based on 2 years instead. Because only quote I read was Nadal said he preferred ranking points over 2 years and he and Nole talked about it. But seems everyone is saying Nole and Nadal want changes to the ranking system.

I think they were pretty close in their Junior days, because their Birthdays are only a week apart, so they were always coming into contact in various tournaments all over the world as they were always playing at the same level. How their relationship is today, now they have both grown up, got serious girlfriends, and generally gone in different directions, I really don't know

I was saying i doubt andy was misquoted cos i thought you were saying that he probably was but i realise now that you were saying that it was nole who was misquoted;)I think i'm right now, this is too confusing:p

Shame Novak lost his confidence and with it his game after Wimbledon last year which lead to bad results and dropping more points along the way and Murray took advantage of it:angel:

I hate the tournament so far(well in particular the venue) i mean what is with the designs of the stadiums are they meant to be tennis stadiums or industrial factories. That metal box structure is ugly- magic box my ar*e
more like the quickest and cheapest thing they could build:rolleyes:

Steve Ulrich is an absolute clown. Useless as an umpire!

Gilles going off the boil here in the 2nd.

OMG, what happened to Gilles and Ivan's match?
Any stream didn't work for me in the middle of 2nd set, so I thought it went to Gilles.

Thank God, i don't mean to upset any Gillou fans but we could do with a long three setter with nobody particularly on form for nole tommorw cos nole doesn't seem very sharp at the moment hopefully a better performance as the opponents get better(and the wind calmes down so he can actually breath without having a choking fit)

I want to laugh at the SB.....the font for the scores are now so ugly....and they seem to update the SB every 2-3 points.......:smash: ATP or the Madrid ATP250 tournament
