Once Roger drops to No.3/No.4?

What do you think?
There is big picture in the poll options. There is also a bit delicate difference between No.3 and No.4

Well, you suggest two very interesting options. If he goes down to #3, he would likely be ranked between #2 and #4 for a while, but who knows how long. At some point his ranking would go up, or go down. But if he drops to #4???? Oh man, in that case he would be ranked lower than #3. Still, #5 would be lower ranked that him, so that's something to watch. In the end, I guess he would also either rise his ranking, or lower it, depending on many factors.

That's what I think would happen.

I think Roger will stay at nr 2 until his like 80 or something. He might go back to nr 1 for a week and a half when he hits 41, but after that he will slip back a spot again. When he is 80 he will retire im sure.

The lower he goes, the worse the media scrutiny, causing increased frustration and higher probability of getting tight on big points.
Essentially, he's fucked.

It won't change much...

I think it depends on how Fatherhood affects him. Personally, I think his focus will change dramtically when Baby Fed comes along, if he steps out on court and that baby has so much as a temprature, a sniffle, a rash (which is likely with lots of travelling), it will be on his mind. I know this sounds really mundane but that is the reality of having children, they are in your thoughts constantly and I don't see Roger being much different to the rest of us parents where that's concerned.

He will continue playing the way he does. It doesn't matter if Federer is No.3 or No.30, he's played most of the guys on tour and doesn't get intimidated by 95% of them.

When he has anyone apart from Nadal (and maybe Murray/Djokovic/Del Potro, although I doubt it) in front of him, he seems convinced that he's the better player any day of the week and should beat them without a sweat.

Even when he was on the verge of losing to Tommy Haas, and more recently the lesser known Falla, he never really looked too concerned. They looked more worried than he did.

Same thing against Berdych, except that Berdych kept his head together and managed to bite through.

I bet out in QF at Wimby IS a big concern, I hope he can, like you said, keep going.

Nothing will change, he'll bounce back as per usual. He can still win pretty easily against players other than Nadal, so why retire?... He'll go on for another few years.

Rafa will get back and leg mono after AO11, so Fed will come back, win everything up until Wimby minimum and get the n.1 again.
