Daniel did beat Hewitt in Austria.

Kids, these are the forehands you want to copy.

Great stuff from Daniel. This is his first tour level victory for 10 months, since he beat Charlie Berlocq at Umag last July I believe.
Daniel's forehand and Vicente's backhand would be a lethal combination.

Hewitt was injured then, though.

I believe he was coming back from injury, but not injured. He took a set off Nadal at RG the following week.

Ok, then.

2nd biggest career win.

Daniel must be on the juice.

Talking about injuries, Daniel is not playing a Davis Cup tie this week against Colombia because he didn't have an agreement with the Brazilian federation - it was about money for travelling in the circuit-, but Davis Cup website prefers saying he is injured :tape:

Group I preview

Colombia hopes that home advantage will help spring a surprise as it looks to reach the play-offs for the first time. In a repeat of last year’s Americas Group I final round tie, Colombia hosts Brazil, which has won all six previous meetings between the two nations and is looking to reach the World Group play-offs for the fourth successive year although it is without Marcos Daniel, who is unavailable through injury.

I hear that Ljubicic was out with Zovko last night.

Good stuff from Daniel nonetheless, whose win over Canas I think I underrated.

You're kidding, of course. He was sick lately and still doesn't feel good, he looked very bad on the court today. Poor Truba.

Anyway, good results for Daniel.
Gu, did you hear what he said in the post-match interview?;)
