MUY BIEN CARLOS!!!
I'd be surprised if he played the Poo...it's probably more likely to be Rochus the way Mark's going at the moment...though I'd very much like to to be against the Poo because then we MAY just get some coverage of Carlos!!!

Wow, Carlos. You had to battle to achieve your 1st win over Enqvist on fast courts. :worship: It seems that the courts are so fast, and serve specialists have been imposed as Karlovic and J. Johansson.
Congrats!. :wavey:

Moyá-Enqvist was the most exciting tennis match today. This should help to Carlos' confidence by the negative previous head-to-head record. :D

Yes, Carlos doesn't like to play against huge server players since they don't give him rhythm. You remember the uncomfortable that he did feel in that match against Arthurs at Cincinnati.

Vamos Carlos  :bounce: :wavey:

Oh man! Karlovic scares me... he's serve is MASSIVE. Let's just hope Carlos gets through this tough one. It would definitely be a HUGE confidence booster I think.

Men's Round-up, Day Four: Roddick Defeat Passes the Torch to Moya

It seems the favourite for the men's gold medal changes daily. On Monday it was Roger Federer, on Tuesday it became Andy Roddick following Federer's defeat to Tomas Berdych, and on Wednesday the torch was passed to Carlos Moya after Roddick's 64 64 defeat to Fernando Gonzalez.

Though he refused to offer it as an excuse, Roddick seemed flat after his exhilarating win over Tommy Haas on Tuesday night. He was broken in the third game of the match, and struggled for his normal level of consistency. He seemed more fired up in the second set as his big serve started to work well, but a break in the ninth game proved crucial, and Gonzalez's nerve held firm as he saved three break-back points before sealing his place in the quarterfinals.

"I'm gutted," said Roddick, who had made no secret of his admiration for the Olympics and his desire for a medal. "It's tough, but I'm thankful I had a chance to be part of it. I cared a lot. It's not the biggest thing in our sport but it's the biggest thing in sports, so it's not a whole load of consolation to say it's not the biggest thing in our sport."

Roddick says he will stay in Athens for another couple of days to cheer on his team-mates, which include his room-mate Mardy Fish. The big-serving native of Minnesota, who said he believes Roddick has a good chance of claiming gold in Beijing in four years, beat Belarus's Max Mirnyi 64 36 61 in a rehearsal of their likely meeting on day one of next month's Davis Cup semifinal in Charleston.

Fish carries US hopes of a singles medal along with Taylor Dent, who beat Ivan Ljubicic 64 64.

But the favourite for the gold is now Carlos Moya, the third seed, who for the second time at these Olympics had to go to three sets before beating Ivo Karlovic.

Six nations are represented in the men's quarterfinal line-up, which reads: Berdych (CZE) v Dent (USA), Moya (ESP) v Nicolas Massu (CHI), Fish (USA) v Mikhail Youznhy (RUS), and Sebastien Grosjean (FRA) v Gonzalez (CHI).

Grrrrrrrrr  I guess his previous matches caught up with him. A good effort though! How ever, it would have been nice to see him come out with gold - or at least a medal!!

Good luck for the US Open Carlos!

oh man......my hopes were so high after Roger and Andy lost. What happened? I'm soooooo sad now. :crying2:
I think Carlos was pissed off at the judge, coz one of Massu's shots was clearly out.
Oh well....good luck the US Open.

hahaha Ozhilians...thanks for all your cute pics along the way...they're great!
I'm also in mourning over Carlos' loss cos he had a huge chance at these games, but anyway, onto the USO now...for sure he also has a great chance to do well there...VAMOS!!!
