If I'm not mistaken David played here in 2002 and 2003. Nevertheless it'll be my first time supporting him live and I can't wait to see him play Live!!! :D

I did had a blast. Thanks Linda :)

I'll post as soon as possible my photos from Estoril Open today. I had the luck of watching both of David's practise this afternoon with Juan Carlos. And after the first one he was kind enough to take two photos with me. A very sweet guy he is indeed. Now he's my favorite player that's for sure :D

First set under his belt and 4-0 up in 2nd. Woop woop.

I love David and I love his game but he needs to open up matches better (if only for the benefit of my nerves!)

Spaniard David Ferrer gave Estoril Open Tournament Director Joao Lagos a fright in losing the first three games of his first-round clash against compatriot Daniel Gimeno-Traver.

The third-ranked Spaniard (behind Nadal and Verdasco), who is No. 14 in the South African Airways 2009 ATP Rankings, looked set to follow two-time former champion David Nalbandian out of the draw but managed to regroup and eventually closed out a 6-4, 6-1 win in 72 minutes on Central Court.

It was Ferrer’s first win at the Estadio Nacional, following opening round losses in 2002 (l. to Safin) and 2003 (l. to Gonzalez). The 27 year old has reached two ATP World Tour finals this year at Dubai (l. to Djokovic) and Barcelona (l. to Nadal). He has a 24-10 season record, with a 9-3 mark on clay courts.

Ferrer will next meet another compatriot, Oscar Hernandez, in the second round. Ferrer won their only previous meeting in January 2008 at Auckland.

^^Who, what where?!

Oh David. So it was your first serve again hey. I sat there at work today not being able to look at the scores CONVINCED that you would get through this one.

Hehe Linda - one or all of the above!

My hopes of David getting back into the top 8 so I can see him in the ATP World Tour finals is minimal then *shrugs*

No .... I will keep on believing. VAMOS FERRU

Kate that happens at the majority of tennis tournaments. Even in Miami the first few rounds if it wasn't a top 5 player or an Argentine/Chilean the stands were nearly empty. Why don't they hire us as filling?

David, what did you do???:smash:

I bet right now with the pathetic display of Barca, David is wondering exactly the same.:awww:

Right on Linda I'm there! Humph. I guess if it isn't a Slam or tour 1000 the interest is less. Still find it weird though. It's bad enough with corporate peeps taking seats but for it to be that empty ... Portugal needs to get on with some more promotion!

Gosh I'm in a poop of a mood. David loses, work sucks, London is sucking my pitiful wages dry and I am surely stuck in a rut.

Alisia - I was also thinking the same thing about O2 in November but God Bless Rafa - got to be worth the ticket price alone

I guess I will pray for empty stands and less people when I am fighting with all the millions of people in Paris again ;)

And Ali, I am sure Rafa will be in London :) And the chances for Fer are not that bad either and let´s still cross fingers for our chico David :worship:

Well I guess not everybody has the same (unhealthy) interest in tennis as we do. Most people that come to a tournament want to see the top dudes because they don't know anybody besides Rafa, Roger, Djoko etc. Which is great for me because unless they play one of my boys that means more than enough space to sit and watch them. Until about a year and a half ago I was forever explaining who this Ferrer guy was. And actually I still spend a lot of time explaining .... "I thought Federer was from Switzerland?" or "Didn't Ferrero stop playing years ago?" When one of the top guys plays on a small court it's insane. Just ask Birte what happened this year in Miami when Rafa played a dubs match on a small court. I couldn't handle it.

Sorry about being in a rut:hug: I thought people who live in big European cities never get bored.;)

knowing my luck Rafa will get injured and I'll get to see Federtard, Djoker, Puke Boy and Duck Boy :help:

How about Delpo and/or Verdasco and Gonzo might make it.:aplot::rolleyes:

Puke Boy is Murray because he once famously threw up on court, I think it was at the USO two years ago. And Duck is also known as Arod. Personally I like to call him RodDICK.

Why did she buy a ticket? She secretly has a thing for Murray.:p

I guess I will pray for empty stands and less people when I am fighting with all the millions of people in Paris again ;)

Don't forget you'll also be praying for sun.:tape:

Just kidding, I seriously hope this year the weather is better than the 3 times I've been at RG.
