They are Jan Hayek and Ivan Dodig.

Never saw something like this before.

Any other examples?

Hajek has done this quite a few times qualified and made finals of Challengers, also winning them as well.

Think it might have happened before, though I am not sure that it has been qualifier vs qualifier.

I know when Haehnel won Metz, he was a qualifier and Gasquet a WC.

There were two LLs playing a final in a challenger in Mumbai in the 1990s. I think Neville Godwin was one of them.

Well, these two are actually hot in shape players and as AJ stated, Hajek is an old firm. Funny that in his match in QF and SF he was bageled in the 2nd set. I hope Tulipe finds this thread as she's at the tournament, but from what she writes in her reports for me, Hajek has played amazing tennis in the deciding sets.

Dodig improved much since he switched nationality from BIH to CRO.

ivan dodig is top 100 quality.he was at career best at the end of 2007 and he was injured last year.he is born in 1985.interesting, he is the best friend and neighbour of marin cilic in međugorje, bih.međugorje has about 4 000 people.

Dodig is indeed very limited player
courtcoveredge and forhand sholud be it...lack of talent visible in every shot
he is from Hercegovina though...there are hardworking men which was working hard labour work in Germany years ago...Kids from his region when come to my home town...they all finish their University...they are not lazy and tend to work hard..same stuff with Cilic...there is some talent but his desire to improve is massive
sholud be the key for Dodig aswell
