Nole hires a new fitness coach!

Is this the final key for Nole's ascendency to the #1 position? It seems to me that whenever he has lost to Nadal or Federror, (Roddick - AO) in the past, it was because of his own lack of conditioning. Lets see what the future brings! Hopefully he does not have congenital breathing problems because of his previous surgery, and that he can address his problems with new training.

http://www.novakdjokovic.rs/index.php?jezik=2#

"Starting from the tournament in Rome, Novakís team will have a new member - Gebhardt, who was coach of Thomas Muster, former world no.1, and holder of 44 ATP titles.

Novak hired Gebhardt as his fitness coach. They started working together after Nole lost to Nadal in Monte Carlo Masters finals last week.

"Fitness is what I need in the following period. I will play three tournaments in a row before Roland Garros, and we all know that transition from clay to grass is very short" - said Novak.

The best Serbian tennis player is the defending champion in Rome. The tournament starts tomorrow. Then he plays in Belgrade, Madrid and Paris at Roland Garros which starts on May, 25.

"Iím always trying to improve myself in every aspect, to become a better player. I felt that I canít improve anymore with members of my team, and decided to change something" - added world no.3.

Novak said that the new coach had brought new programme, new system and many innovations.

"Of course, we havenít changed everything, that would be risky" - concluded Nole."

An Indian Wells loss was a fitness issue too. Kind of like "unfit" Federer eating humble pie and shittin' mononucleosis in Australia.

Smartest thing Novak has done in a while. He is behind Nadal, Federer, Murray, and even Roddick in terms of fitness....and it has hurt him in many matches over his young career already. Better late than never.

Djoko is not genetically gifted like Rafa,he is deluding himself if he thinks he is going to win RG...five sets with Rafa on clay is a tall order ask Roger. That topspin is the killer,Rafa wears out his opponents with that topspin and as weak as we know Joko he wont make it.
Anyway no.4 Muzza is going to be no.3 on monday bwahahaha!:p

Dfaker's program for success:

train in the Serbian mountains
wear silly blue shoes
brag about your unproven prowess
call for medical timeouts when out of breath
attempt to trash opponents who have obliterated you

He needs a whole lot more than a fitness coach. Perhaps soon he'll be back to throwing pizzas at a third rate Serbian ski resort.

HA! Unproven prowess? Is that any way to talk about a grand slam champion and a kid who knocks down several masters titles per year? Is that any way to talk about the only guy that pushes Nadal on clay, and can beat him on the HC anyday? How green with envy we are! :p

Not to mention grass. Would have won Wimbledon 07 semi final if not injured, and should have won queens last year.

Forget F/O, I reckon Djokvic will beat Nadal at wimbledon this year.

instructions:

1. name all the the players who have defeated rafa on clay since 2005.
2. name all the players who have taken rafa to 5 sets on clay ever.
3. look for "djokovic" among these names.
4. when you don't find it, re-evaluate your above statement.

well to be fair, Djokovic did push the Clay Warrior at Hamburg last year. he also gave him a tough match on grass at Queens.

on another note, i wanted to ask you about your avatar. what building is that exactly. it seems that i have also seen it in some music video.

Some people thinks they live in a Disney movie.

I can see Nole climbing a mountain with a load of rocks in his back, while some really nice Elthon John song sounds in the background. At first he just crawls, but after just 3 weeks he is able to climb in a few easy strides, as the song climaxes, and he raises a fist at the mountain top. Then he is about to lose to the epic villiain Nadal in a five setter at RG final, but no! he remembers the magic words of wisdom from the hermit in the top of the mountain, wins and becomes a hero, then releases a second book titled... um... "My second grand slam".

I don't think the attitude of some fans here is fair, towards Novak. First he is being criticized for not being fit and retiring due to it and than he tries to improve that aspect and again he is being criticized????? Why???? Let' give these player the benefit of the doubt, because ultimately the produce the good tennis we all so enjoy watching including the one you all love to criticize the most, Novak Djokovic!

You are quite right and charitable. It's just that Novak is a poor sport, fakes injuries, bad mouths opponents, and over-inflates himself. In short, he's easy to dislike.

I can't really believe anyone is really giving any credit to this crap.

He's an elite sportman that earns millions, has trained intensively for what, 10 years?

And now he realizes he needs a physical trainer?

you really think you can increase your endurance and fitness in 3 weeks? it takes years to do so, intensive training for a 3 weeks in which he's playing 3 tournaments will only weaken his chances.

Has anyone noticed that Nole was breathing much easier during the Rome tournament, even in the final with some very long points? No look of agony on the face, no raising the racket to expand the lungs. Is it possible that his Rocky IV training in the Serbian mountains is paying off?

DRAGOOOOOOOOOOO !!!

That's one of the few things I admire about Fed-error, he never looks like he's breaking a sweat. Lance Armstrong is blessed with this as well, and it is why at the age of 40, he is still destroying kids who are half his age.
