Discuss.

JMDP was up a set and a break in the second, then up a mb in the tb twice, but Wawa played the crucial points better and took it to a third. There, Del Pony prevailed with his usual game, Wawrinka was flashier but it wasn't enough.

Pathetic from Wawrinka, while delPot was distinctly average but solid.

Wawa threw away serve with double faults right at the start, then only started playing a bit after a double break down. Threw away break middle of 2nd set, got it back thanks to a little choking from DelPot, then nicked a tiebreak. Third set Wawa exploded midset, lost something like 10/11 points at one time. Had double break point to get it back but missed both.

DelPot got an insane number of netcords :-)

this match was 50-50 but JMDP is a more regular player, that's why he won.

Novak will kill him.

Stan, loads of point lost here .
I thought that he will come back, had 2BP for 5:5 in the 3rd set.
But still all the credits to Delpo.

great fighting spirit as always from stan - as the commentator said, he just doesn't know when he's beaten.

I agree with the above poster, stan was flashier with his shots and winners second set onwards, but JMP was more consistent throughout. and that amount of UEs is still stan's big problem - he can get away wit it against thelower ranked oppenents, but not against the top 5.

good watch though, couldn't look away to the point that I missed the whole of roger v stepanek match.

Great win for Ponyboy, Stan is no slouch on the clay.

here's to hoping Nole teaches Del Pony a lesson.

D-Pot is dying a 1000 deaths right now just thinking about the great Serbian Slayer.

lucky for him that Nole can finally end his painful existence when they step out on the court.

89% of first serves won is huge on clay!

its misleading. its his more consistent ground game that follows that made the difference.

Del Potro is starting to find his feet on clay.

He's still hitting the ball like he's on hard court too often. (Didn't see this match, but that was the case against Troicki. And I'm not straight but as others have noted Troicki's girlfriend is amazingly BEAUTIFUL. There were catcalls in the crowd when the cameras showed her, and she is so divine she deserves better. Movie star goddess, not just model ho.)

Anyway:lol:... I expect Del Potro to continue to improve on clay as the season continues. If he peaks at Roland Garros, the Masters don't matter. But the learning curve tomorrow might be too steep.

No... have you seen the match? Many points won off serve, and Wawa dominated the long rallies. It's the serve that made the difference for Pony. When he didn't get firsts in, he struggled, especially in the 2nd set tb.

i like both, del potro could probably do with this win more given stans had a pretty decent clay season already.

It pains me to see Sammy and Gu fight in the wake of Simon hidings , Steps slashings and Toad stompings. I like both. My conclusion: I've been looking at this forum too much lately.

I want Del Potro to win tomorrow. But I don't want him to win if that would mean a Federer semi because he's been hapless against Federer.

Does JMDP like herb? He has a stoner demeanor.
