What does means "proper tennis"?

Is there an "inappropriate tennis"??

If so, what are the characteristics that differentiate one from another?

Is there any sense to translate moral concepts into the professional sports world?

IMO "proper tennis" is which one it allows you to beat your opponent within the rules... :smoke:

ok let's start..

these are some terms u will see while on MTF, i will explain what each of them means.

proper tennis - attacking tennis
moonballing - playing with topspin (rather than its true meaning, as seen on the WTA)
green clay - wimbledon grass
blue clay - the surface of hardcourt tournaments won by nadal
the pig, pocahontas, nadull (forgot anything?) - rafael nadal

i believe refraining from exposing certain parts of ones anatomy during play constitutes proper tennis...

What means real tennis? Is there an "unreal tennis"?

All these concepts seems to me a bunch of excuses for frustrated losers. Professional tennis changes over the time as we can see in your pics and the sole purpose is, has been and always will be only one: to win. No more empty concepts.

correct. poor the idiots who plump for "balletic" tennis aka pansy tennis and bash Nadal's effective tennis as they aren't even able to cite a single regulation that states tennis should be played "balletically".

Real tennis is when you can play an almost exclusively baseline game but still have people thinking you are an all court player. It's easier today than it used to be considering the current relative points of comparison.

The opposte of proper behaviour is improper behavior, not inappropriate behavior.
Improper behaviour is behaviour not in accordance to ATP ot ITF rules.

Inappropriate behaviour is out of place to some poeple's sensibilites &
could include crying if you lose an ATP match (Federer).

proper tennis:

1-Follow the rules!
2-Have proper technique
3-Be an educated gentleman

now do i need to remind again what's wrong with today's tennis?

if you ever taken a tennis lesson you know the basic follow through. the termination ends near your left shoulder(something a #1 in the world doesn't do :o ) shameful era when i can hit a flatter ball than the #1.

a pro player should be able to hit any kind of shots not only the same

showing passion, emotion and honesty for the death of tennis..

instead of buttpicking, spitting, vamosing with gay shorts, faking injury, coaching from the stands, ball bouncing, time delay, smelling own armpits, looking sweaty no shower, suspicious water bottles, screaming fangirls interrupting matches, moving shamefully to intimidate opponents when receiving...all this IN FRONT OF MILLIONS from a #1 :o in the world.

This is like arguing that you have to play certain opening moves in chess. The openings/techniques are aimed merely to improve a players ability to play the game. At the end of the day it doesnt matter what technique you use or which opening moves you make as long as you win.

But then fanboys always need an excuse ;)

proper tennis: the tennis you play against federer that makes you lose

ugly tennis thats for peasants and should be banished from the world: the kind of tennis nadal plays and beats roger with

Be sportive, respect other players and follow the rules accepting defeat. Nowadays is almost impossible to play constantly at the net, because the improvements in tennis raquets maker easier to finish the rallies from the baseline, and so, it´s difficult to maintain that Nadal´s game, for example, is not an attacking game. But nevertheless, having and attacking or defending game is not proper itself.

Yes he is the atp chairman, how did you guess? Proper technique is when the racquet head doesnt end over the same shoulder that you hit the ball with.
