will the next 4 years be as boring as early 2009 ?

since nobody seems to be able to dispose of Nadal on any surface too soon,
i guess male tennis will be very boring to watch until 2011-2012.

At least Fed had Rafa ...

the new King will dominate all surfaces, with 1, maybe 2 Grand Slams waiting ...

Boring sport...

does anyone see it differently ?

all boredom comes from within.

Murray will beat Nadal 6-7/10 on a HC even in grand slams.

Djokovic wil be 5/10 on a HC with Nadal even in GS and about 1/10 on a clay.

Tsonga/Davy/Verdasco maybe 2-3/10 on a HC against Nadal. Unlikely in GS.

Nalbandian????????

And 2009 hasn't been boring at all.

why? does the truth hurt or something. i mean what really is the purpose of this thread?

its all depends on one`s vantage point and perspective. latest issue of the TENNIS magazine declares that tennis is in its golden age. check the article out. its a good read.

now with that said, i will leave your thread alone.

Funny mode : so what ? it's only been 5 years since Nadal won both Monte-Carlo and Barcelona (and the only suspense for RG is that he might get injured  )

At least I have to say it's very practical for me to update the Race : I did it far before the match, just waiting the match point to post the new Race

Serious mode: on other surfaces don't worry : he's far from being invincible.

Is that supposed to be a joke?

yes, nadal will lose a few on hardcourt to various players but 60-70% against murray? that comment would only come from the retarded british media.

anyway on clay and grass, the above have little if no chance.

There are plenty of other sports. . . . .

And what happened to all the Murray-hype? He'll win a slam soon enough.

Nadal is still very beatable on HCs which make up the majority of the tour. Because of this, he's never going to dominate the game in quite the same fashion Federer did in his peak, which means it won't be as boring a period for the neutral observer than a few years back

I can guarantee that Murray and Djokovic will put up a much better fight than Roddick and Hewitt did.

Why don't you wait for 2009 to end before declaring it boring (although it's been anything but boring so far. The AO was amazing, the masters have been quite eventful. In Miami both the top dogs were taken out. Murray has already taken Federer a couple of times and Nadal once, if I remember correctly. Djokovic is getting back in tune. Del Potro finally made a breakthrough. Roddick seems to be finding some form.

RG hasn't even started yet, and even if Rafa is the favourite, it would be interesting to see who makes it to the QF's, SF's and if we have a Fedal repeat in the final or something new.

Wimbledon is also sure to be exciting this year. It's hard to choose a favourite between Nadal and Federer at Wimbledon. Will Nadal hold his title or will Federer make a come back? Also, Andy Murray is going to be the crowd favourite again and this time he will play with more confidence, both against Federer and Nadal. Roddick is an outsider with a server's chance, and maybe this time Djokovic can put on a better performance.

As for the US Open, it's wide open to the top 4, and the top 10 underdogs might just be capable of pulling off some upsets themselves.

It's boring because 99% of players are brainless moonballing/grinding mugs. And Nadull is the biggest one of them all.

At least Rafamug's more handsome and nicer than Fedmug, Stepanekmug and Hewittmug.

Only Roddickmug's more handsome and clownish than Rafamug. Djokomug retires too often before the hour mark. Murraymug will slide and slip off the clay and grass tournaments.

Nadal was probably the best on hard courts this year, but I wouldn't call it domination. Apart from that I'm pretty sure Murray will develop into an even or better player on hard courts. He probably already is, just couldn't cope with his nerves in Melbourne lapsing back into old patterns of behaviour. Mental strength gave Rafa the victory over Verdasco. Mental weakness cost Murray the victory over Verdasco. There's no way Rafa will dominate hard courts in the coming years.

Talking about grass courts I personally don't think he'll stay the best, even with Federer declining. I cannot give reasons here, but I personally don't expect him to win 3 or 4 more Wimbledons.

Referring to clay his chances are a lot better. Dominating only the next 4 years, which means being inferior to another player in 2013, would surprise me.

Exactly. In fact, Nadal's achievements have a lot of merit because there are other 3 great players that can consistently beat the rest of the field. Federer domination had o opposition because there weren't great players...

boring? with at least 4 capable players competing for hard-court and grass-court titles? hell no. Nothing would ever be as boring as tennis from 2005 to 2007, during that period of time, i almost completely pushed aside tennis watching only 8 or 9 slam finals that had either safin or nadal play in.

Only for the Rafa bashers has early 2009 been boring.

As for him dominating, I agree with Deck here. I think so far this year, Rafa has been the best HC player. But, come summer HC season, who's to say that will be the case. Oh, and yeah, Andy was sick during his match with FerDasco. Andy got to the rankings he has because of the awesome summer season he had.

Grass? Rafael is definately better than he used to be on it, but he in no way will dominate it.

Clay is his surface. Nothing demeaning about that. Every player has their favorite surface that fits their game the best. So what that is clay for Rafa. The fact that a handful of bonafied legends never won the FO and Rafa won's 4, is telling. Even Roger said he thinks the FO is the toughest slam to win.

We have Rafa, the new No.1. A No.2 everyone is interested in seeing what happens to. A No.3 who's also making things interesting by starting to regain his former form and a No.4 that is a threat to all top three. It's no longer the Rafa/Roger show. That, to me, is sure as hell something to watch.

Anyway, if you are so bored, I suggest you YT or watch some downloads or torrents.

Fed only had Rafa from 2005 on. Even then, he used to sweep 2-3 slams a year up until 2008, when he "only" got one. Was it boring then? perhaps it is to you now but, come on, how long can it last? Let us Rafa fans enjoy what we have while we have it. Sure enough, a new talent will emerge that will end Rafa's rise.:wavey:

Its boring because of his ugly style not by his domination coz he will never be a domination force outside of clay Fed's fans are truley devastated nowadays!!!! That's why threads like these are started. Call him what you want but rafa's the classiest player in this sport who gives 110% everytime unlike that swiss bitch(who will be fourth favourite to win ANY tournament from now on )!!! He dominates fed full stop. It's over for him now. He should pack his bags, go home :wavey: and watch rafa win at least 14 grand slams in his career. Fed's style used to look so beautiful against roddick, hewitt..... but when it comes to real tennis players he don't look so pretty!!!
