Barca : Davydenko def Lopez 7-6 3 -6 6-4PiggyGotRoasted 04-23-2009, 05:39 PM Discuss pica_pica 04-23-2009, 05:40 PM :woohoo: Can't believe his H2H with Lopez was 0-4 before the match... Now Kolya should try snapping his losing streaks against some other players... alfonsojose 04-23-2009, 05:44 PM :yeah: :D Nichele Hull 04-23-2009, 05:48 PM One less prick in the draw :yeah: Sunset of Age 04-23-2009, 05:49 PM Good job, Denko! :D finishingmove 04-23-2009, 05:49 PM good job donkey finishingmove 04-23-2009, 05:50 PM lalo better get his ass on centre court, verdasco is feeling the effects of his absence oranges 04-23-2009, 05:54 PM Good job. Finally someone to take out Stepanek in the next round Aenea 04-23-2009, 05:59 PM Discuss What exactly are you expecting us to discuss? The match was played on a non-televised court  All that we can talk about are the stats. Well done, Denko to finally avenge those 4 previous defeats. miura 04-23-2009, 06:42 PM Kolya :rocker2: Jimnik 04-23-2009, 07:03 PM Even on clay Denko struggles with Lopez. Wasted 7 BPs in the first set but credit to him for getting the job done. A weaker player might have folded against such a difficult match-up. fast_clay 04-23-2009, 07:04 PM http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm182/patma2003/skeletor.jpg TheBoiledEgg 04-23-2009, 07:37 PM he finally beats a WTA player  Kolya :woohoo: schorsch 04-23-2009, 07:46 PM  mdjenders 04-23-2009, 08:47 PM good job kolya, but now no racquet sponsor ! he is using prince frames from two years ago, no stencil, and what looks like a head bag. philosophicalarf 04-23-2009, 09:15 PM The h2h was misleading - all but one were back 2002 to 2004, and the one loss last year was on a desert hard court (and Lopez was serving insanely that week). Davydenko is normally pretty good against lefties, and Lopez wasn't even serving well for large chunks of the match. Guessing of course, but I think Davy's UE machine was in 5th gear here. Geo 04-23-2009, 11:15 PM can't believe this is only his 1st victory over this guy :speakles: glad he got it done, though he still lost a set...:tape: BaselineSmash 04-23-2009, 11:17 PM Davy must have had too much F-Lo on the brain leading up to this one. I mean, what was the hold up? Kolya shouldn't be struggling on clay against Lopez. I seem to remember the Spaniard in a Kitzbuhel final, and he had a good RG in 2004, but that was a long time ago and he's frankly dire most of the time. We'll see him get another good Wimby run, but before the grass Davy shouldn't be letting their lop-sided head-to-head get to him. bjurra 04-24-2009, 09:07 AM The h2h was misleading - all but one were back 2002 to 2004, and the one loss last year was on a desert hard court (and Lopez was serving insanely that week). You are right about the h2h. I watched the match yesterday and Davydenko had a dip in focus in set 2, apart from that very few UE. He was struggling with Lalos aggressive play at times though. Not quite the super defense he had at his peak. | |
