Who has the best chance of winning the U.S. open: Tsonga or Murray?

Tsonga is more of a hardcourt player obviously and Murray as well. Both made the final at a slam last year on a hardcourt,so who can win it?

Uhhh...Murray.

Tsonga played a goood AO, but I don't see him beating top players consistently in grand slam after grand slam, But Murray can.

Although Tsonga is a great player, he suffers (to an extent) from the Baghdatis problem, a great slam result creates too big a hype.

So far Tsonga has a Master Series, but that isn't enough to hype him up to the level of Murray IMHO.

Tsonga has had some bad losses at the USO, so maybe there's some reason he isn't at his best at that event, but above all it's a question of whether his knee(s) will let him play at optimum level. It would be great if he could get in shape for the event, because past results notwithstanding he should be able to hang tough with the big 4.

On past history, Murray will be far and away a bigger favourite at the USO, but on ability alone there's little to chose between them.

Be nice if this was a slam final in the near future.

Neither would be a complete upset as winner, they certainly both have the potential to win a slam. But Murray looks somewhat more probable at this stage.

Tsonga? I don't see any basis to treat him like a potential US Open champion (or even Wimbledon champion). He is a type of guy who should be considered as a favorite to win each indoor tournament, that's all.

Tsonga doesnt seem comfortable on American hardcourts whereas Murray seems to like the USA hardcourts and was a junior champion...in this regard Murray has a better chance:)

Will Murray go with bleached socks or off-white?

Will Tsonga opt for a full fro or the trim cut?

Which type of bottle will they guzzle from on break - iron cast, carbon coated, fibre-glass plastic, or the new variant acrylic hypoxy polymer which reduces friction 15% allowing for accelerated entry?

Will Murray be donning boxers or briefs...

How many permutations of nonsense does it take to drive a sane man to sucide?

I think Murray is obviously the bigger favorite based on results so far and risk factor. But people dismissing Tsonga fail to awknoledge that when he is on he can beat any player. If he can find a way to even out his peaks and valleys, which alternate even within the same match, he will be a serious threat. Not that he has to play extremely well the whole time, but just make his low points not incredibly bad bu just moderately below his average level.

I think both are too injury prone to win the US Open, it will be Nadal v Federer Final now that Nadal has no Olympics to wear him down.

Where is Tsonga? Is he playing Rome? How he is not in the top 10 yet this year is beyond me.
