must have planned it that way knowing Gulbis would choke. Only explanation for losing a set and going down a break in the second to that clownish excuse for a tennis player.

Crapload of money went on Gulbis prematch too, odds dropped from 2.25 to 1.60. I wonder if someone in Potato's camp was leaking fake info so they could arb :-)

Gulbis was leading 6-4 3-1* 0-40 (3bps) then lost 7 games in a row...

Good comeback Potito :yeah: Hopefully he can find some form...

talent is the most overrated element in pro sports! when ur in the highest level, its mental 90% of the time and hard work that will get u higher! talent will get u through age group tennis, and that is all! gasquet is a talent, but a mental midget, where is he? gulbis is mentally not there and unless he works his arse off he will not get very far in pro sports! people say nadal is not talented because he doesnt play the classical way, but when he hits those incredible winners from defensive positions, or his increble dipping, spinning and pacey passing shots or his control of the top spin, or his ability to hit top spin with added pace to the ball, that is pure talent of the man! its not some flukey thing he just does, his freakish talent along with his hard work enables him to do that! roger federer is not more talented than rafa nadal, roger is more elegent but talent wise they are very equal, its nadal's hard work and mental strength that gives him the advantage over federer!

even bernard tomic a 16 yr old kid beat this mug starace at the aussie open!

 Expected 1st Round exit from Gulbis.

If he can't win them on his own.

He should try new strategies like bribing his opponents for ex.

some players do work hard, but the results don't always come right away. Maybe Gulbis just needs more time  Not everyone can rise quickly up the rankings like Nadal, Djokovic and Murray  It's just frustrating because he IS clearly more talented than a lot of players he has been losing to recently, including Starace :wavey:  It's a shame his game just hasn't come together yet.

and I never said anything bad about Nadal  I think he's got the best combo of talent, fitness, strength and mental toughness obviously, or else he wouldn't be #1

Don't compare Gulbis to gasquet please.
At least, the hype about Gasquet was justified(being the youngest player ever to win a MS match and to become junior world champion, beating Federer and pushing Nadal close on his best surface at only 18,making 2 MS finals at only 20 and making a GS 1/2 final at 21).
Gulbis has done almost fucking nothing to deserve any hype.
Ffs,he has yet to even win a tournament

He has the potential to become a hell of a lot better than Gasquet.

You can't seriously be thinking this???

Gasquet is way more talented then Gulbis is or ever will be (and i am far from a Gasquet fan), the latvian is a ballbasher who thinks he can dropshot and loves to do it, and fails to see that he is patehtic in doing it; no gameplan at all, never has there been a player so overhyped like Gulbis on this forum.....

Starace does easy business, the far more intelligent player wins of course...

Yes,Gasquet is more talented, but he never proved it in the last 1-2 years.
I don't know what's his problems in the majority of his important matches, but there must be something.Maybe the injury every time?

Gulbis lost ofc is not surprising :)
