What a crap! Nico withdrew again, just as last year at Ordina Open.
Such a dissapointment that Nico and Edu won't be there. I am very doubtful about Gaudio, whether or not his injury will be healed in time..... but when the UPS go DOWN, they really go down!
Anyway, did anyone hear any more news about Gaudio's situation?
Are you sure Chelita is gonna accept the direct acceptance. I dunno about these guys....:S

Middelkoop got a direct entry somewhere else. I'd hope they'd give the WC to someone like Koning, even if I don't like him. Or a junior like Berta.

Are you sure all other R1 matches will be played tomorrow? Sirianni will play tomorrow night I already read on the homepage of Scheveningen. But still undecided to be honest with you. Can't promise anything..

Thanks Caio! For sure for a challenger a really good lineup. GL managing PAW this week by the way! :wavey:

Well do what you can and any reports will be appreciated. As I always appreciate fan reports, especially from challengers.

sheva07: can you give me some general impressions of the games you saw? Are you planning on going other days also?

Montañes vs. Muñoz-De la Nava

When I came in that match it was 4*-5. In that game Muñoz came to 0-40 and had an another setpoint after deuce. Montañes fought back and broke Muñoz at 5-6. The second set was up and down, but in the end Montañes were the better of the 2. The level off this game was pretty high and I was impressed by Muñoz' play.

De Bakker vs. Sirianni

This was a very tight match. The first set was very close with a long tie-break. Sirianni was more consistent and deserved the first set. Thiemo played better in the second and Sirianni is not a very special player at all in my opinion. Thiemo broke early in the third but failed to be two breaks up. He made it unnecessary tight. Thiemo has definitely the talent to be a very good player, but he is mentally weak. His body language is so bad when he is behind. He has to improve that otherwise I don't think he will make it. His shouted all the time in the match to stay positive.

Sluiter vs. Gonzalez

I was impressed with Sluiters game. He attacks where it could and in the rally he was equal. Gonzalez didn't play his best game tough you could see he is a talented player. He made too much UE's that's why he lost the game. Also he didn't look very focused. Great win for Sluiter over a claycourt specialist from the top 60.

Think I will drop some pics tomorrow.

I don't have plans yet, but maybe when the line up is good I will go by the end of the week another time. I'll let you know, Sheva.

It was a terrible match! I was there and I rarely saw any winners. I think Gimeno hit about 85 mishits/frame balls, it was terrible. Sluiter will have a very good chance against Cuevas. Also Tenconi played very well, it wasn't so much the bad play of Benneteau. He complained a lot about the wind though...

Best thing was in the casino, playing poker with De Bakker, van der Duim and Koellerer :D

I don't think you retire in a final because you have to play a tournament the upcoming week. Too much points at play..

Indeed, that's why I'm worried. Knee problems are mostly pretty nasty as well, so...

Yeh, Montanes really had bad luck  ! I'm so sorry he lost (very short match after waiting an hour because of the weather also :bounce: ...) and hopes he'll be back in Hamburg next week. Injury didn't seem that serious, but turned otherwise. I think the court was still slippy because of all the rain; Vliegen also was slipping on court, but was the lucky one this final.
