Sparko have a great time on your holiday weekend - glad you can get ESPN2 coverage!

I doesn´t know anything about this blood test. Tommy H travelled to Paris but he isn´t 100% okay. I haven´t much hopes for him at Roland Garros.

Now it´s time for Chile vs. Croatia...but be careful with the weather today. ;)

And hey Kid - I watched La Fea Mas Bella last night - and Lety was trying to decide between Don Fernando o su papa. And it ended with her calling that guy at the company. I know she doesn't do anything, but still was like  And the previews for today didn't show either Lety or Don Fernando so couldn't tell what was going to happen.

Hey is there anyone here on Nico's forum that understands this World Cup stuff?

I decided to root for Spain.

How many games do they have to play before they make it to Germany? And do they play all over Europe beforehand? And once they make it to Germany, how many games will they have to play before they make the final?

And did I pick a good team? I picked them because I like their colors. ;)

I hope you mean soccer NicoFan. ;)

Spain played 12 games before they qualified to Germany. 10 games round robin (group 7) against Serbia and Montenegro, Lithuania, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina and San Marino.

Finally Spain became the 2nd place behind Serbia and Montenegro. So they must went to a play-off (first leg, return match) against Slovakia...Slovakia took the 2nd place at group 3. At home Spain won 5:1 and out of town 1:1.

At the World-Cup Spain plays against Ukraine, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia in group H. In this group you must take place 1 or 2 to qualify for R16. If Spain win this they come to quarter final, then semifinal and final at the end.

I think Spain can reach the quarter final...but it´s only a tip. :)

 Yes, I mean soccer (futbol en espanol).

TommyB you know everything. Gracias...

I thought it all started in June - I'm late here.

I watched a show this week that previewed some of the teams and one of the guys said he thought Spain had one of the best teams, but usually they are one of the best, but never win anything in the end because they never seem to work well as a team. But he thought that this year they would finally get it together because their coach is someone who could bring them together.

Now I have to find a club here in NY that will show Spain's matches. They only really show England and some of the South American teams on regular TV. If I want to see the others, I have to go to certain clubs around the city and then pay to see the matches. But that's fun going out so I don't mind.

I wish I could go to Europe to see it - I was in Europe the summer of Euro 2004, and it was a lot of fun going to the bars at night and watching the games. Especially in England where everyone had their faces painted with their teams colors. (Although I first I thought they were scary... ... because I didn't know what was going on and didn't know why these people with painted faces were running through the streets yelling and screaming. )

(I'm also going to root for England and Argentina - I think Chile is in it too so I'll look for them also).

TommyB.
05-27-2006, 02:19 PM
Oh no i don´t know anything. ;) But i love soccer...next to tennis!

It´s true that they are one of the best teams. The top favorite is Brazil and then teams like Argentina, England, Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Czech Rep, France, Germany and Spain. There are lot of good teams and i think it will be an exciting World Cup 2006!

And of course, the spanish guys had some problems with teamwork. Also they lost the important matches every time.

Oh yes it´s really funny watching the games with lot of people. We are a group of 10-15 persons and try to see all games. It´s a little bit crazy but tradition in the meantime! However we don´t run away with painted faces...only screaming! :D

I hope you can see lot of games too!

Hey NicoFan, you are not wrong, the World Cup starts in June, in 12 days haha! people here in Mexico is going crazy and you can see counters with the countdown everywhere. Mexico has a good team but like always I only expect to see them in the R16, actually this time they got an "easy" group, the toughest one would be Portugal.

The problem with Spain is always the same, and some other teams have the same problem. But I'm rooting for Brazil as always, Argentina could be dangerous, Holland and a lot of European teams, my other favorite it's Italy, so it'll be an interesting world cup.

And Chile didn't make it to the World Cup

NicoFan
05-27-2006, 08:44 PM
Yeah these commentators said that Spain never is able to win the big ones. Too bad. Hopefully this year they can do it.

And glad TommyB you aren't one of those crazy people who paints their faces and run around the streets like nuts.

I'll watch Mexico too Kid! I think Univision is going to have a lot of their games. That will be good except I hope they don't take off my telenovelas for futbol....telenovelas are far more important than World Cup. ;)

Speaking of telenovelas Kid - did you ask your mom about Lety? Last night she calls her papa and asks him what to do. And in the previews for lunes, Ariel has a tape of her talking to the guy at the company that he's giving to Don Fernando. Poor Kid...I know I drive you loca with my questions about my telenovelas! :haha:

05-28-2006, 10:08 AM
Sorry kidnicky! I forgot it. Mexico has a good team too. :yeah:

Mexico played great games at the Confederations Cup here in Germany last year. They defeated Brazil and lost only narrow against Argentina (penalty shoot-out) and Germany (extra time).

I like the Mexican Rafael Marquez who is playing at FC Barcelona in Spain! :)

Btw - I don´t like telenovelas...but they are very popular in Germany too! My girlfriend is watching telenovelas or soap operas all the time. ;)

Don't worry Tommy B :yeah: actually I left my fanatism for the mexican team since the world cup in 94, the one that was in USA .... loooong story and I'm sure that if I'd say it, more than one would call me crazy

But I do like Rafa Marques!! he's the best mexican player and the first mexican beign champion of Europe

NicoFan, don't kill me, I forgot to ask to my mom  but I'll do it I promise!!! but like I told you before, Lety doesn't do anything wrong to Don Fernando :p

You were right!

Lety didn't do anything to Don Fernando!!!! I cried when she told him, and said she would would resign, and he told her that he trusted her - he had such a sweet look on his face. But Don Omar at the end told DF that Lety was in love with him.

And now...I promise I'll never ask you a La Fea Mas Bella question again!

That's true, we are kind of even - and you have American Idol tonight, right?

Oh I wish I had watched that interview! I would have cried too. I was less in shock later in the day - that was a numbing match, I felt dazed and confused afterwards. I can imagine how he felt. There's always such drama in Nico's matches.

kidnicky
05-30-2006, 02:16 PM
Nop, I've Am Idol until tomorrow night, the first part of the finale so I need to know again the lenght of the first show, 'cause I already know that the 2nd was the one with 2 hours, but I need to know it for the first one, 'cause I can handle an hour and to be awake until 12 am but until 1 am I'm not sure, and it'll depend of the next Nico's match, I guess I'll tape it 'cause I was falling sleep yesterday since 10 pm  yeah me and my great idea of beign awake since 4 am

Actually I guess that I didn't see the complete interview, it was the night edition of sports center so the commentator was saying that Nico and Chucho had almost the same ending for their matches and they even gave the interview at the same time  you could see Chucho in the room next to Nico :p, so he only said (the part that I watched) that it was a strange match 'cause after the 2 first sets he lost his energy, that it was weird what he was feeling but that he was lucky to be able to finish the match and then the phrase that I told you before. It seems that Nico and Fernando know Malisse since they're juniors and both of them think that he has a great technique and a great talent so that's why he was in shocked when he finally won the match .... I didn't know that

The boy has to make a mental hospital for his fans, because for him we'd end in one of those clinics :silly:

NicoFan
05-30-2006, 02:24 PM
 Kid! So true - he's either going to make us more loca than we already are or kill us from a heart attack watching his matches.

Poor guy that he lost his energy. That's so strange because he's always so fit but of course it might have been from all the intensity he put into the first two sets that he wore himself out. Plus I think he's putting a lot of pressure on himself to do well this year...that will wear him out mentality.

The first night was an hour where they just sang (I think it was only one hour - wish Sparko was here because she would definitely remember - but I'm almost positive). Then the final show where they announced the winner was definitely two hours.

BTW Kid - looked at iPods this weekend - I like the one that holds 500 songs but they only had it in white - white is the most popular but I like it in black - I'm going to look at another store and see if they have it in black.

kidnicky
05-30-2006, 02:38 PM
NicoFan, now we've 2 petitions to make to the Massu Family  I don't have medical insurance and I'm sure that If I'd have it, it wouldn't cover insanity for a tennis player :haha:

Thanks for the times, so I can see live the first show and I guess that I'll tape the final one or like I said before, it'll depend on Nico's match.

NicoFan!! I want the ipod!! I was looking at them this weekend but here the prize it's the double that you told me! and a colleague got one of those in white because a friend brought it from US I think .... all is so expensive here all the time :o ooh! and btw! Alex told me that he sent yesterday your package with you know what

NicoFan
05-30-2006, 03:26 PM
TommyB - yeah so far I like most of the results. Tommy H and Fer V were two I liked - though I felt sorry for JI. So far the only one that I'm really sad that lost is Feli.

Kid - sorry iPods are expensive in Mexico. I'll look online and see how much they are in Canada. Maybe you can buy one when you're there. We'll add electronics store to Barnes & Noble and the Blue Jays game!

BTW we've to start working about the book that you told me remember??? and did you read that Alex sent your package already???

NicoFan
05-30-2006, 04:44 PM
Yeah, I still want to go to Toronto.

TommyB.
05-30-2006, 07:04 PM
NicoFan - with "Feli" you mean F. Lopez? Perfect day for me...Gonzo def. Safin at least! I hope of a match against Tommy H in the third round. But it´s difficult.

kidnicky - why you are not rooting for them anymore? :)

NicoFan
05-30-2006, 07:42 PM
I hope GF got to watch it too! Great match - even though the last set seemed one sided score wise, almost every game went to deuce. Must have been great to watch...and great because Fernando won! :) I would love to see Fer against Tommy H - can't remember who Tommy has next, but I know Fernando has Novak - tough in one way, but I think Fer can beat him.

And yup, Feli a in Feliciano Lopez. Or as Rafa calls him - Fidgiano (something like that - we're supposed to hear the story on why some other time).

TommyB.
05-30-2006, 09:04 PM
Tommy H plays against his friend and davis-cup double partner Alex Waske now. Usually it´s a little bit easier as a player like Djokovic. But i read that Tommy still had problems and wanted to cancel 30 minutes before the match against Schuettler started today. He tried it fortunately. I don´t know what happens the next days.

Ah ok "Feli" Lopez. He isn´t playing a good year so far!

kidnicky
05-30-2006, 10:50 PM
NicoFan used to call some of the boys for short names  just teasing you NicoFan!

Tommy B, long story, I was a big fan and when they went to the world cup in USA it was so exciting, it was a great time and they're in a tough group, I remembered that it was called the death group, they're were with Italy, Norway and Irlanda (forgot the name in english lol!) so they passed to the next round with Italy and the next match was against Bulgary, it was a great match, it ended 1-1 and all was defined in penalties .... 2 of the best mexican players didn't score their penalties and Campos (the portero, the ones that keeps the goal entrance) did some great stops but at the end Mexico lost ... it was sooo damn closed! the bulgarians were tired and scared so it was so dissapointed. I cried like crazy! and I didn't want to go to eat (silly I know!) so since that time that I suffered so much I decided to stop rooting for them, that was one of the best mexican teams ever so the rest is just worthless  ... I do like Rafa Marques but he can't play all the positions in the field like a wizard :p

See! long story and now everyone knows how crazy I was .... correction I am 'cause the place of the mexican team has ben occupied for some chilean tennis player that you all know :silly:

Hopefully Tommy Haas will recover very soon!

NicoFan
05-31-2006, 12:22 AM
Hey Kid - una espanol pregunta. You know how Lety always says con permiso con permiso con permiso about 10 times as she's leaving the room? Well Don Fernando and Don Omar say "propio" "propio" back. What does the word "propio" have to do with "con permiso"? "Propio" means "own" ... like "mi propia casa" - my own house. No me entiendo...

Ok, I have to go and study :p

NicoFan
05-31-2006, 12:45 AM
Go study!

Its on Univision New York time from 8-9.

I love La Fea Mas Bella (especially that gorgeous Jaime Camil...oopppps sorry guys  ) - she says no but I really think that I'm making poor Kid loca because in Mexico they are further along in the story so I keep asking her questions. Kid isn't going to like me very much by the time its over. :haha:

kidnicky
05-31-2006, 01:27 PM
Alonso has that telenovela too?? damn! can you explain me why everybody have mexican tv shows and I can't have a single chilean tv channel?!!?! what a bummer :p

Oh and about your question NicoFan, when they say "propio" that means that she can go away, that's just an answer when somebody says "permiso" permission to leave a room or to leave a group in a middle of a conversation, like you don't want to be rud with the people around crossing between them or interrupting a conversation, if you want to leave you just say "con permiso" or like Lety "permiso" and then the rest of the people answer you "propio" that means, it's okay you can go  ... it's just good manners, people in the US use "excuse me" but don't know if you answer something as a response

Thanks for the explanation Kid!

Lety cracks me up with her permiso permiso permiso. And bowing down when she says it.

In the US, I guess we really lack manners. ;) When people say excuse me, people either just nod, or if they need to move, just move. Its kind of like yeah whatever you're excused. Just go... :haha:

Yeah Kid - not fair that everyone gets the great Mexico shows and you can't get any of the Chilean stations. Even when I was in Spain, we got one of the Mexican telenovelas.

kidnicky
05-31-2006, 05:41 PM
I know! and now Don Fernando knows that when Lety is mad, she doesn't bow to him and says "permiso" very loud and serious

Well I don't know if we've to many good manners but I say "con permiso" everytime that I left the elevator and the rest of the people says "propio" or "buen dia" ... not everyone is like that :p

When DirecTV was here, I remembered that they had TVN and The Tennis channel, but the stupids from SKY didn't let them to stay here and now those assh*les don't have those channels and not even ESPN+

See! long story and now everyone knows how crazy I was .... correction I am 'cause the place of the mexican team has ben occupied for some chilean tennis player that you all know :silly:

I can understand it because Germany lost against Bulgaria in the next round (Quarterfinal)! We all were really dissapointed too. Germany led 1:0 until 15 minutes before the match was finished. Then Bulgaria shot two goals within 3 minutes and we lost 1:2. I was shocked and frustrated a long time.

You see it´s also crazy! And i´m rooting for the national team again and again. ;)

I figure Nico is probably going to leave Paris tomorrow for home.

He'll have a good couple of weeks to relax - with the exception of the exhibition with Rios.

HAVE A GREAT VACATION NICO! :) You deserve it!

He's had a great 1st half of the year - great LA swing, did well in Miami, did well in Morocco, had some problems with the MS events in Europe, but did well here in RG. Got to wonder how far he would have gone if he hadn't had to play Fed.

Grass always sucks. :(

But I think he's in a good position for summer clay in Europe.

oh no no no you girls are driving me crazy  first NicoFan you sound like my brother  that he only likes to go to the baseball games to eat a lot!!! :haha: , shame on you!!! having the best league in the world ?!?! :p ....

GonzoFan!! okay, I was a huuuuuuge futbol fan but like I'm a terrible loser I decided to stay away a little bit from it, before I have a heartattack in front of a TV but at least you've to see some matches during the world cup!!! the best futbol in the world in one place so you've to be aware of that  ...

And another thing girls, Chile doesn't suck at futbol!!! the thing is that you're in the worst area to try to qualify to the world cup!! the best teams are in south america!! Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile etc etc so it's like an impossible thing trying to qualify if you've Argentina and Brazil fighting for a place. Here in Mexico, we've a lot of chilean futbol players and they're amazing!! , Mexico qualifies all the time 'cause it has such an easy teams in the same area, the most complicated now are the USA, and the worst thing is that now USA is beating Mexico in futbol :ras: so now there's another reason why I stopped rooting for the Mexican team  you'll see, they'll make it to the next round and that'll be it :haha:

Lovely! after my post I was thinking that I forgot to put France  but you're right ... Zidane :worship:

And anther wow...I didn't know the US beat Mexico...are we that good? I had no clue becuase I thought they would s*ck so I never watch them. Maybe Mexico isn't as good as Argentina and Brazil, but they seem very good to me when I watch them on TV.

And what other reason would you go to a baseball for besides eating!!!! :haha: Just kidding...I do like the sport, but they're all so greedy with their strikes and everything - made me not like the sport as much. :( But I do watch the Sox and the Yanks and the Mets now and again.

06-06-2006, 10:55 PM
well I'm not an expert NicoFan, but having a futbol coach in my family and having like 5 uncles that loveeee futbol, I did learn something about it

and well the US team is not that good, but it's improving a lot!! that was our only hope! that was the only sport where Mexico beated the USA all the time!! those days are gone, we lost the oportunity to go to quaterfinals the last world cup when we lost against the US team, all the people here was sooo sure that Mexico will finally make it and again, nothing happened!!! thank God that I wasn't a big fan of them by that moment, otherwise I'd have killed myself :haha: .... And again, USA qualified to the world cup 'cause the only "tough" team in its area it's Mexico

And the other thing with Chile it's that most of their great players are outside the country, so it's a tough thing to try to form an actual team when the players just meet each other for these kind of matches, you only have to find a good coach and then Chile will be kicking butt again. They're during an european tour playing against teams that will be playing in the world cup, and Chile didn't lose a single match, so I'm sure that it's a matter of time and you'll have a winer team in the world cup again :yeah:

You're right NicoFan, the sox break your heart, but they've giving some good surprises to their fans ... that's why I love that movie, I'm just like that

Well, it looks like Gonzofan and I will depend you all of you for guidance  There is a saying here in the states that goes "soccer (futbol) is the sport of the future and always will be". ;) Its been true for 30 yrs but things can change.

Kid-I never knew either your depth of knowledge on soccer! I'm impressed! :worship:

That reminds of me something James said on a recent ATP show when asked about World Cup: I don't know. I'm an American.

Sparko that's a fun saying  people in the US should start to pay attention to soccer, I mean that's one of the main sports that the kids there practice now am I right?? at least that's what I always see in movies  .... but it's okay! it's not fair that they've to be always the best on everything ... that's why it was so lovely to lost against them in the 2nd round in the previous world cup

And I just know a little bit about soccer Sparko, not that much :p ... but like I said before, living with a family that talks about soccer everyweekend has its advantages and disadvantages

:

The qualification for a team like Chile is very tough. All national teams in south america are dangerous meanwhile. In the other areas you find lot of easy teams...also in Europe! ;)

I´ve read that Mexico has some trouble with the coach La Volpe. The mexican press want the resignation of him. They wrote La Volpe was drunk at the training camp in Holland.

Btw - Here in Hamburg is much (positive) trouble too...more and more fans came into town  and i´ve seen many Argentina shirts so far. Saturday they are playing against Ivory Coast at our AOL-Arena. :D

kidnicky
06-07-2006, 05:07 PM
I guess that Europe and South America are the most complicated areas to try to qualify to the world cup.

Yes, the mexican press don't want La Volpe anymore , now he's mad at them and he doesn't want to give a single interview, if he was drunk or not I'll never know, although during that match the guy seemed pretty normal to me, but it's always the same with the press. The previous coach was better than him, he's not bad but this team could be better, besides he called to the final team to one player that it's not the best in that position but everyone is saying that was because he's is son in law :haha: ... oh we'll see, but I'm sure that Mexico will be in the 2nd round and that'll be it like every single world cup

BTW Tommy, are you going to some matches????

TommyB.
06-07-2006, 05:59 PM
:D funny

La Volpe looks like an eccentric person. I wonder if he´s still the coach after the tournament! ;)

In Germany the press had lot of problems with our coach Klinsmann too. He tried some new things and took some unpopular decisions. The press was angry with Klinsmann because he lived in Florida and wasn´t in Germany the whole time. And also when he changed the goalkeepers few weeks ago.

I had no luck kidnicky. We applied us for some tickets in the internet but no chance. It´s really difficult to get tickets for the World Cup. But it´s not as bad as that! :)

kidnicky
06-07-2006, 06:35 PM
yeah he's kind of eccentric and I'm almost sure that he won't be the coach after the world cup, it's always the same! like the mexican team loses in the same round every single world cup, they change coaches to see if someone else could work, the good thing is that at least they leave the poor guy chose and work with the team until the next world cup.

So it seems that the press of germany is after their coach too huh?? it's a never ending story, there it was because the coach was living in Florida and here because the coach admitted non mexican players that got their citizenship just to play in the team :haha:

Oh so the people in Germany was the same as the people in France to get tickets for RG?? kind of a lottery right?? it's kind of silly but it seems that they wanted to be sure that the stadiums would have people from different countries, not all from Germany, but it's a bummer! beign so near to you and without a chance to go?!?! shoot! :o

TommyB.
06-07-2006, 08:44 PM
Exactly! It was a lottery...very complicated for real fans. But if Germany is playing you have more Germans in the stadium i think. The highest number of tickets gone to world cup sponsors. So my last chance is black market. :D

I have no problems with it! We are watching the matches at home or going to sportbars.

You are absolutley right Kid! The kids' soccer leagues are always full from preschool up and they're are always looking for coaches but all the parents say "I don't know how to play" Maybe this will be the generation that finally brings soccer to the forefront in US sports scene. :yeah:

kidnicky
06-07-2006, 10:20 PM
oh well Tommy, hopefully at least you'll get to see a match getting a ticket in the black marquet  .... that lottery thing wasn't funny at all :ras:

You're right Sparko, I guess that the kids will be a great soccer players for the US in the future, now Mexico can't beat them that easy so I'm okay if they become the best in soccer too

Jose Saturnino Cardoso, that is the name of the Paraguayan player who will miss the world cup, he is a veteran of the Paraguay team, he has played in the last three world cups, all he wanted was to finish his career after the world cup but he got injured, the poor guy was devastated, he almost broke in tears in the press conference.

06-08-2006, 01:16 PM
I can imagine that, I know Cardoso, he plays in Mexico, the name that I didn't know how to write was the name of the country in english :p ... poor guy!

The goal keeper of Mexico had to fly back to Mexico 'cause his father died before taking the plane to Germany, and the same thing happened to an argentinian player, poor guys, just what they need right now

06-08-2006, 03:04 PM
Oh yes...bad news today with all these injuries and especially the story with Mexican goalkeeper Sanchez. But i´ve read he want to come back for the first match.

Frenchman Cissé is an unlucky fellow. It´s not the first important tournament he´s missing because of an injury.

kidnicky
06-08-2006, 04:01 PM

I remember when Welcome to the Jungle came out - I told one of my friends...they are going to be big...bigger then Zep. He thought I was insane. Maybe GNR isn't as big as Zep - but they were certainly totally great to watch live, and are definitely one of the coolest bands of all time. :yeah: Totally out of control. Definitely - I would love to see Barcelona and Real Madrid games but here in the States you have to go to Clubs to see the European teams except for the teams in the UK. It sucks.

I loved November Rain too - which reminds me of a story. :haha: I was in Atlanta visiting relatives and my cousin who is a rock n' roll freak :yeah: took me to a store that had all bootleg albums and tapes. So I got a GNR album that had November Rain like 1 1/2 years before it actually came out on a regular CD. It was sooo cool. But...in one of my many moves, the movers lost the box with all my old albums. And with it...that bootleg album. I was totally devastated.

Slash did look hot at times. He was one cool dude. :yeah:

OMG! Sebastian Bach!!! Now here's more stories and then I have to go watch La Fea Mas Bella!

I loved Skid Row. I was in love with Sebastian BAch and that long beautiful blonde hair!

Anyway.

First story. I was living in Atlanta (lots happens in Atlanta  ) and there was this really cool concert place - I can't remember the name - but there was 3 levels: Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. In Heaven was the concerts were held. Well Sebastian comes out in this feathered shirt - and I mean feathers everywhere - like this fluorescent pink color. And all the other band members had the same shirts but different colors. It was just too wild.

Second story. Back in 2000-2001, Sebastian was on Broadway in Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. I saw it - he was awesome. He has the coolest voice, and he would just let it rip. But one day I walk out of work - I was working in the Times Square area then (which is right where Broadway is), and who is standing across the street talking to some blonde? Yup, Sebastian Bach. Well, in NYC its considered to be very uncool if you talk to celebrities. So I had to very cool walk across the street and pretend that I wasn't looking at him, I went into some store, and came out and had to pretend again not to look at him. He looked so hawt! And I wanted to just say - hey Sebastian dude! But I refrained. ;)

And now I'm sure everyone is sick of my stories - and its La Fea Mas Bella time!

Hey, Nicofan, I love your stories!!! And here is some current Sebastian Bach trivia: He currently has a supporting role on Gilmore Girls as part of Lane's band. I didn't mean than the final will be boring. It's the fact that's always the same players in final which is boring.
But if I was fan of Federer or Nadal, I think that I would think it's good and exciting.

I spend my week-end at my parents.
Have a good week-end !!! :wavey:

oh well no luck at all, the 2 channels that I can see on my tv are not the ones showing the match or the opening ceremony :ras: so I'm only knowing the result through the internet, Tommy must be very happy Germany is wining 4-2!!!!

The final won't be boring, but it's true, it's kind of "boring" to know that all the time the same players are in the finals  but it's going to be a greeeeeaaaaat match and RAFA HAS TO WIN!!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

I felt so bad for David! I saw the score first (kids are out of school so I didnt' get up too early today ;) ) I watched their match on TV (taped of course, can't pre-empt the stupid "Today"show for a live semi-final from RG ya know  -I would have got up to see it if they'd have aired it live! ) Anyway, the commentators were going on how brilliant Nalbandian was in the 1st set and a half. Just so sad to see him (or any player) get that close have to retire.

That would be great if you sent me video of Sebastian Nicofan! (and yes, he still has his long hair  ;) ) I think that was my Robert Palmer period and I loved that look then! (although he had "good" hair too  )

Hey Kid-on the World Cup and bosses thing...I've there is some huge rate of employees calling in sick in the Netherlands during the World Cup but its ok because their bosses call in sick too! Don't know if its true or not but if it is what's up with your Dutch bosses????? :p

Elea and Axl-you have good weekends too! :wavey:

Thanks for the info Sparko! Yeay - Sebastian still has his long hair. :yeah: What night is Gilmore Girls on???? I'll have to check him out.

And yeay for Germany winning! I watched a little bit. They seemed in control the entire time - Costa Rica couldn't get any offense going.

But booooooooooo Tommy! :haha: Hopefully Roger will win???? No no no - it must be RAFA!

Oh Sparko, the same thing happened to me with the begining of the world cup, instead of having it in the main channels they had their stupid morning tv shows that I hate sooo much :o, but I guess that at least you'll have the final on sunday right?

So that's happening in the Netherlands?!?!?!! :haha: :haha: they're so excited for this world cup!! even more 'cause they're very close to Germany and I'm sure that they'd die if Germany wins the world cup  there's some rivarly between them , am I right Tommy??

You've to learn from Lorelai Sparko  .... and NicoFan don't hate but I don't know Sebastian either :p but it's not my fault!! I know from other bands as lons as I could get info from the music from the states when I was younger

Sorry but my girlfriend is a Federer-Fan and i like him too (a little bit). :D

So i can´t support Rafa...and he beat Roger again and again! :o

Your are right Kidnicky! There is a rivarly between the Netherlands and Germany since 1974. Germany beat them at the world cup final in Munich. But the revenge cam 1988 as Germany lost the semifinal against the Netherlands at the European Championship in Hamburg. Legendary futbol matches...

At the next match you can see our captain Michael Ballack! ;)

Rafa beat Roger again and again - but Roger beats everyone again and again! Just teasing ya TommyB - Fed's a good guy. I just figure Fed won the Oz Open, and as far as I can see, they might as well hand him the Wimbledon trophy now - I can't see anyone else beating him. Or even at the US Open.

And Kid and Sparko - this is Sebastian in his prime - mama mia, I loved that hair!!!

And I 'm with you Kid, I always thought the lead singer from RHCP was :yeah: and he did had long hair at one time. That's how I remember him anyway. I have to add Eddie Vedder to the "hawt" list too!

As far as Nico's looks go, the thing that caught my eye was the fire in his eyes! (I love his hair though too ;) )

Congrats to the German team and TommyB! I hope Germany will continue to win!

Oh, and yes Kid, I expect the final should be live but this is how bad my luck is sometimes-its my turn to teach Sunday school that day so I may miss it anyway

RHCP's never did anything for me, but I loved Eddie Vedder - him, Kurt, and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden). Though I was totally pissed at Chris when he cut his hair. I wouldn't listen to Soundgarden for a year after that. :haha:

And everyone must feel sorry for me...I had a terrible day. I took the first part of the teacher cert exam -quelle nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe in 6 weeks I have to repeat this awful day and take the second half. :bigcry:

I know no one is here so I'm talking to myself  but what a weird match. Rafa was terrible in the 1st set, Fed was terrible in the 2nd set, and now although I want Rafa to win, I have to wonder what Fed is doing out there. Johnny Mac hit the nail on the head - Fed was such a variety of shots in his arsenal, he needs to use them all. He's trying to match Rafa who is The Best clay court player I've seen in years by playing with only a clay court strategy. He obviously can still win - I can't see Fed giving up - but just a weird weird match. Totally different than what I anticipated after watching them in Rome. And now Fed is broken to start the 4th.

NicoFan
06-11-2006, 04:09 PM
Again...talking to myself.

But man Fed got lucky when Rafa was serving for the match - just clips the tape to fall over and Rafa couldn't stop his momentum and touches the net. But then Fed plays the point of his life. Now we're heading to a tb.

Starting to feel like Rome...could go either way....

You're so right girls! I'm a big sports fan but I don't have the fault that some of the best athletes in the world are cute also

So do you think I'm happy??? THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!! People here is just crazy!!!! Celebrating in the streets in all the cities across the country, did you see the stadium?? It was almost like if the team was playing in Mexico, I'm sooooooo happy!!!!! The team played an incredible second time and I cried since the begining of the match to heard the national anthem beign sang for all the people and I also cried at the end when the goalkeeper dedicated this win to his father and all the team was crying with him and all his family was there, it was incredible ;) .... the next match it's going to be difficult but if the team keeps playing like that they have goood chances.

The Portugal boys are cute but you definetely have to check the italian team .... although it won't be the same without the great italian captain Paolo Maldini

Now I'm kind of confused, I've so many Chris on my mind that I don't know wich one is wich now lol! But I do like the one that it's the lead singer of Audislave, I think that's is the same Chris Cornell

Czech Republic just did another great goal!! 3-0!!!

And the thing works like this Sparko, there're 8 groups, each group has 4 teams, and these 4 teams has to play each other, the 2 teams that have more points are the ones that continues to the next round, the points?? well 3 points for each match won, 1 point for a tied match and of course nothing if you lose a match. So at this moment it's not over yet but it's very important to win the first match otherwise you've to wait for a serious of combined results to see if you go to the next round or not. And if there're 2 teams with the same amount of points, it'd be decided for the difference between goals that the teams have made, in this case to have 3 goals help a lot :p
