I did go! I went on Saturday and bought some fun things. This place is interesting and at the front they have like 3 food stalls (I wouldn't quite call it a "food court" per se), and one was this woman who was sitting making dumplings. So I bought some pork ones to take home, and they were just disgusting :sobbing: There was this like clear little thing in them, to this day I dunno what it was. They looked and smelled so good, it was just so disappointing :sobbing:

But Deb dearest, I didn't get a chance to eat til now because I had classes all day today. :awww: Actually I just bought some on the way home from Dumpling Palace, they're really cheap too, like they sell 40 frozen ones for only 12 bucks or something!

Maybe vermicelli pieces??? :scratch:I don't think it was vermicelli, but perhaps a different rice noodle. In any case, it was disgusting. Just give me pork and a little cabbage/veeggies and just make it taste good, that's all I ask :sobbing: actually the frozen ones I bought at the first Korean place I went to were pretty decent. This place had several kinds but they were more expensive and I didn't feel like deciding which to try (plus no room in the freezer right now :o) so I figured I'd wait til I finished the bag I have and then I'll try a diff kind.

"The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net and for a split second it can either go forward or fall back. With a little luck it goes forward and you win. Or maybe it doesn't and you lose."

I used to be the BIGGEST snl fan ever, but after jimmy fallon left it went into the toilet, and then slowly got flushed faster and faster. I haven't even watched it since like last december. I was gonna watch the premiere, but I ended up turning it off after Dane Cook's monologue. I figured that'd be the funniest part of the whole thing. :o

I saw Jimmy Fallon at the opera last week.

End of tangentially-related comment.

UGH. I just had a screaming match with my mother and then it turned into a cry fest. She's so negative on herself and feels completely worthless and that she fucked up her kids cuz my dad died. Like she blames herself for my issues and my havings to go see therapists and my relationship problems even though they have nothing to do with her. I hate how depressed she is and she dones't listen to anyone. My sisters and I have tried everything to get her to go see someone to talk about it, but she refuses. Ugh. I hate this part of my life.

Well, it's a cliché, but something like the first solo cello suite (or any of the six, for that matter).

Or, perhaps some preludes and fugues from The Well-Tempered Clavier, or some of the Brandenburg Concertos.

Anything Baroque would work, actually, for the mood I have in mind. Vivaldi, Rameau, Telemann, Corelli....

omg a place called dumpling palace? :sobbing:I don't think it was vermicelli, but perhaps a different rice noodle.

Yes :o Actually I always think the food itself has quite an unfortunate name. ;) You don't want to see someone coming out of a room and say "Hey I just made 8 little dumplings" :rolls:

Hopefully it wasn't fat, although it might be! I know of places that would do that since it's a whole lot cheaper. I so need to show you what some reeaaaalll dumplings are like, including the ones with chinese green onions and lil shrimps  Fried dumplings are great too.

dumplings? which type? wonton? har gow? guo tie (steamed or pan-fried?)? siew mai? xiao long bao?

I haven't had the internet for a week and a half and it's been hell!!! :sobbing: I haven't been able to come on here and find out all of the tennis news and stuff, it was horrible! I've got so much to catch up on, I haven't even read the post match DC interviews yet. :sobbing:
Hope everyone is ok! :)

Welcome back! ;)
Actually I shouldn't even be on here, I'm in the campus library and I'm supposedly working. :p
So what did you do without the internet? Learn a language? Wash your feet? Become pregnant? ;)

NIP/TUCK is the most funny, sick, twisted, and perverted show I have ever seen.

I love it.

Why do you think I like the show so much.

Hi Adam!

I spent a lot of money on glasses lately, you think you could give em up for free whenever I visit UK? :p

Btw, why is Andy bigger in your sig, is it because you like him more or does he just have a bigger head.

Oooh, what type of glasses do you wear? Sometimes it's not even the frames that are that expensive, it's the lenses....

 good question, I'll pass it on to my employee and dock them a weeks wages ;)

Normal glasses for near sighted average joes. I dunno, you're the optician here! :p I'm gonna make a fashion statement with my new Burberry glasses though! :rocker2:

Well have they got metal all around the lenses? Or plastic? Or is it just the lens with nothing round it? Or half metal, half nothing? :p

We don't stock Burberry I'm afraid, we can sort you out with some cK's, or perhaps you'd like some Ted Bakers? Or perhaps you'd like one of our cheap Zodiac frames :p

Full metal, I think. I feel like I'm being quizzed.:p At any rate I was asking for free glasses so it shouldn't matter. :p

:haha: I just wanted a handle on what you're currently wearing. Rimless frames are nice (see pic below). Free glasses might be a problem :p (unless you live in the UK and are unemployed  ).......I can get you some diagnostic contact lenses for free though :)

Depends how up to date it is, but we wouldn't usually do that anyway....mainly because if the patient comes back and says they can't see out the glasses properely, it kind of screws everything up.

My parents go to the eye doctor then go to a glasses shop with the prescription and that's that. And there are the big chains like LensCrafters that do sales a lot and stuff.

We don't really have those here....do they offer a wide range of lenses, or just your standard lens?

Probably not, but 2 months without footy and tennis has killed me, I've been doing some theraband exercises on it recently so it has built up a bit of strength....I'll take it easy, it's only training we don't have a match for 2 weeks :)
