One of my best friends Ash went out to LA last week with two of friends-- Jen & Kristin. They were all staying with her one friend's sister (Nicole) who is an agent for William Morris Agency. So she had all these awesome things for them to all do. Well, last week they were on their way to this club to go hang out with Janet Jackson (omc jealous!) and Kristin got into a fight with Nicole. So they both left (Ash's 2 friends). Ash & Nicole get back to Nicole's house and find out that Jen & Kristin had left Ash out there. THEY FLEW BACK TO PA AND DITCHED ASHLEY OUT IN LA.

Luckily Ash is out there with Nicole so she's still been having an amazing time meeting tons of celebs and doing all this amazing stuff, but like what if they were all just out there not staying with anyone. Ash would be completely alone 3000 miles away. I cannto believe they did that.

Nicole is Kristin's sister. She lives out there. They were staying out there. And I guess they got a taxi from Nicole's house to take them to LAX and they exchanged their return flights or just bought new ones. Ash hasn't talked to them since it all went down. I'm about to start hell, but I was asked to behave until she confronts them. Cuz I want to start :boxing: right now. Nobody gets away with messing with one of my bffs like that. :armed:

CHAT WITH DA VIN SPISEL YO!!!!!!

Buzzmaster: Vince will be with us at 3 pm, so keep he questions coming!

Vince Spadea: Hey, thanks to everyone for joining in. It's Vince Spadea, I ain't afraid a-ya, so let's have the questions, anything you want to mention. Spadea's in contention.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taylor (Charlevoix, Michigan): Hey Vince, Are you doing anything special to your game to better prepare yourself for the US Open?

Vince Spadea: Just trying to stay focused and try to do more training, work on a lot of quickness and agility and try to stay explosive and powerful as we get down to the nitty gritty, just trying to stay in tune and sharp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
jane: how do u learn to play your forehand so stylishly?

Vince Spadea: I didn't know it was that stylish. I basically hit a millions of balls and studied a lot of different techniques from preparation, swing, contact and follow-through. It's all about finding your own style from all the tips you take in.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zach (Washington, DC): What are your tennis goals for the rest of the season? Do you have a specific ranking that you want to achieve?

Vince Spadea: I had a slip in the rankings and it's been tough to adjust with the book becuase it affected my focus and clarity. Now that that's behind me it's all about tennis. I want to get back into the top 50 to start and if I can have a strong showing at the Open that will be huge. Then play a good indoor season and win a title before the year is out. I want to win one a year and get back into the top 20, where I feel I belong.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ryan ( Providence , RI: Vince, just wanted to say thanks for signing my book while I was in Toronto last week. As i mentioned read the book cover to cover. It was great. My question for you is how much longer are you looking to pursue a career on tour?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Duke (Queens): Do you think that coaches should be allowed to talk to players in the middle of a match like every other sport in the world?

Vince Spadea: That is something unique to tennis, that we don't get to get feedback from anyone and be so independent, confident and poised. I think that should get more promotion because it distinguishes us from other athletes. Aside from sprinters or other runners there's not anything much like that. It's such a one-on-one sport that we should either pump up that part of the game or just do away with it and let us talk to the coaches. That would be a big move and would be interesting to see. I guess that's a yes and a no. I guess it might help the mid-level players more than others.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Andrea (Buenos Aires, Argentina): Hi Vince! What do you think about Juan Ignacio Chela, your rival in the next match?

Vince Spadea: He's been a solid, consistent player for several years and is always tough to beat. He doesn't do anything extremely well but isn't bad at anything either. He is a grinder who keeps the ball in play and has some dangerous shots. I've beaten him and lost to him so I just want to get out early and do what I do best.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abid (Fredericton, NB Canada): Who are some of your good friends on the tour? Who do you hang out with?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Duke (Queens): What do you think of the new instant replay?

Vince Spadea: I think they are pretty good. It's good to see such an important part of every match in a different way. I don't think it will make or break a particular match or tournament. It won't be a regular thing. I've heard the umpires get it right about 70 percent of the time, so it will help, and it will get the fans a little more involved. And it gives the players another thing to think about. But I don't think it will have a real direct impact on matches because there are so many more scoring plays than in football.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leyla: Dima Tursunov wrote that you were easily the best battle-rapper on the ATP circuit? How true is his statements?

Vince Spadea: It's just something I have fun with. You get better at anything by practicing and I've done it for a long time, and in a tennis environment where the average player isn't exposed to that a lot it's relative. I'm one of the only guys who does it. But bring on the competition, know what I mean? I'll make you scream 'cuz I was on the Olympic team.

Vince Spadea: Spadea's coming out in the music world, he ain't playing, that's what I'm saying...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sally (Boston, MA): I read in "Break Point" about your relationship with your father. My cousin is currently coached by my uncle. He's fifteen and I think he should try to find a professional coach. What do you think?

Vince Spadea: Every case is different and depnds on the rapport they have. It also depends on how much real knowledge the parent has in terms of high-level tennis. I cant' say for sure, but whatever's better for his tennis is probably the best bet. It's not black-and-white because there might be some things that are good, like moral support and all, and maybe he doesn't have all the technical knowledge. Or maybe he knows all about tennis but maybe he can't blend it well with the father-son issues. It's all dependent on a lot of factors and we've seen cases where it works out and others where it doesn't.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phil (Des Moines, IA): Have you developed one aspect of your game as a weapon to be competitive with today's big hitters, or do you consider yourself a true all-courter?tour

Vince Spadea: It's hard to change at this stage of my career. I just try to be solid in every facet because it's hard to develop a Sampras serve or a Federer forehand at this point. I just try to get eveything I can out of all the parts of my game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chad (KY): Do you like playing overseas more than playing in the US?

Vince Spadea: Playing in the US is more comfortable but as I've gotten I've enjoyed playing overseas a little more becuase I can appreciate all the other stuff a little more. The international fans are great, too, and they have a huge passion. In the US it's a little more select where the passion is that high. But it's nice to play in familiar settings, familiar language and food. I've played my best tennis in the US.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike (Indianapolis, IN): I just saw you play in Indie! In your book, you talk about the difficulties of playing on different surfaces. What surface do you most like to play on?

Vince Spadea: Thanks to everyone for the questions and I appreciate all the support. Be sure to check me out at the US Open, where I'll be hopin' and scopin' and hopefully no players'll be dopin'. Freakin' semi-finals, y'all...

Yes :scared:
And I have no insurance offer so I'm screwed if I don't get it. Plus it's not helpful that most of my close friends have offers that are way lower than what they are predicted so they're not worried about tomorrow at all - though at least this means that I won't have to do any commiserating. I was in the same situation last year, I needed AAB but most of my friends needed much lower! it's hard isn't it! but if you don't get it, ring Cambridge and if you're close they might still take you, if not then I'm sure you'll get a decent place elsewhere because your grades will be good enough to get into most places. Make sure you take all the relevant phone numbers with you so that you can ring around straight away if you need to because the sooner the ring, the more chance you'll have of being accepted. I hope you'll be ok though! :)

And I have no insurance offer so I'm screwed if I don't get it. Plus it's not helpful that most of my close friends have offers that are way lower than what they are predicted so they're not worried about tomorrow at all - though at least this means that I won't have to do any commiserating. Always look on the bright side and that...

I need to vent.

My poor Uncle Monte. I told you guys a while ago that he was going to have open heart surgery and he had it last week and is doing all right. While he's in the hospital my Aunts watching his dog, but last night his dog got off his chain and got hit by a car. Uncle Monte LOVES that dog, it was the only thing he was really concerned about before he went in for his surgery, that his dog would be taken care of if he didn't make it. And my Aunt won't tell him that he died, so he thinks his dog just got loose. He called animal control like 8 time today seeing if anyone found him. I think it's really shity that she won't tell him what happened to his dog, and when he finds out that she didn't tell him the truth and buried his dog in secret, I don't think he's ever going to forgive her.

I feel like he really need to know, but at the same time he's still recovering and heart patients are susceptible to depression. My Aunt's taking care of him so it wouldn't be right to question her judgment and go behind her back to tell him.

I just feel so bad for my Uncle Monte and even worse for poor Lucky, he was such a nice dog.

Today's bizarre news story.....

'Hybrid mutant' found dead in Maine

Wed Aug 16, 2006

TURNER, Maine - Residents are wondering if an animal found dead over the weekend may be the mysterious creature that has mauled dogs, frightened residents and been the subject of local legend for half a generation.

The animal was found near power lines along Route 4 on Saturday, apparently struck by a car while chasing a cat. The carcass was photographed and inspected by several people who live in the area, but nobody is sure exactly what it is.

Michelle O'Donnell of Turner spotted the animal near her yard about a week before it was killed. She called it a "hybrid mutant of something."

"It was evil, evil looking. And it had a horrible stench I will never forget," she told the Sun Journal of Lewiston. "We locked eyes for a few seconds and then it took off. I've lived in Maine my whole life and I've never seen anything like it."

For the past 15 years, residents across Androscoggin County have reported seeing and hearing a mysterious animal with chilling monstrous cries and eyes that glow in the night. The animal has been blamed for attacking and killing a Doberman pinscher and a Rottweiler the past couple of years.

People from Litchfield, Sabattus, Greene, Turner, Lewiston and Auburn have come forward to speak of a mystery monster that roams the woods. Nobody knows for sure what it is, and theories have ranged from a hyena or dingo to a fisher or coydog, an offspring of a coyote and a wild dog.

Now, people are asking if the mystery beast and the animal killed over the weekend are one and the same.

Wildlife officials and animal control officers declined to go to Turner to examine the remains. By Tuesday, the carcass had been picked clean by vultures and there was not much left of the dead animal.

Loren Coleman, a Portland author and cryptozoologist, said it's unlikely that the animal was anybody's pet.

After reviewing photos of the carcass, Coleman said he was bothered by the animal's ears and snout. It reminded him of a case years ago in northern Maine in which an animal shot by a hunter could not be identified. In the end, wildlife officials got a DNA analysis that showed the animal was a rare wolf-dog hybrid, he said.

Mike O'Donnell, who is married to Michelle O'Donnell, said the animal looked "half-rodent, half-dog" to him.

It was charcoal gray, weighed between 40 and 50 pounds and had a bushy tail, a short snout, short ears and curled fangs hanging over its lips, he said. It looked like "something out of a Stephen King story."

"This is something I've never seen before. It's an evil-looking thing," he said.

I tried to do that but mine wasn't confirmed on there until late in the afternoon! :o so I had to wait until I got to school, and I had my friends running at me telling me what they had got and one of my friends came jumping over going "Jo, I got 4 As!" and I was just getting more and more nervous! so when i got my results, I kinda cried a bit because I was so relieved, I really thought I'd done badly in biology, and I wasn't sure if I'd got my A in maths. Here's an update on the Mutant Maine Beast ;)

Mystery Beast: Loren Coleman pays his respects

Yesterday, Mark posted about the mystery creature found dead in Turner, Maine. Since then, my cryptozoologist pal Loren Coleman traveled to Turner and examined what was left of the creature. His visit was documented in a Sun Journal article (https://www.sunjournal.com/) , reprinted on Cryptomundo with a few additional comments from Loren. (Illustration contributed to Cryptomundo by Mike Lemos, more info here.) From the article:

"The skull is gone. The haunches and all the internal organs, too. The only fleshy parts left are the paws," said (Coleman). "It’s got some extra claws that I find interesting.

"They’re sticking up like the horns of a devil. I’ll be looking into that."

Coleman was the only expert on the scene Wednesday as the controversy over the unidentified animal reached levels bordering on hysteria.

His early opinion: That the beast was possibly a chow, a breed of dog, that had turned feral.

Look at her. She's saying "come on Seth, come and shag me senseless". But Seth responds, "sorry Ana, you're ugly and I'm not interested". Ana runs away crying, right into the arms of Adam who is a shoulder for her to cry on. She pours her heart out to him. "Adam, Seth thinks I'm ugly" she sobs. Adam says, "don't listen to Seth, he's gay". One thing leads to another and Ana and Adam end up sleeping together, get married, and have the most beautiful children ever. Seth forever regrets the day he turned down Ana Ivanovic, as he ends up marrying MatejBockoFan in a gay wedding in Los Angeles.
