it's not that hard to guess where she studied if she only came during uni. we've only got 3 local unis. it's probably either NUS or NTU. unless of course she came to do a private course or came to do a course with one of the foreign unis that set up shop here.

I know what it feels like not to have any motivation. I screwed up long enough, but at the moment I can't afford to do that anymore. If I don't finish my thesis in time my parents will kill me.

I survived two exams today. Literature and maths. I haven't touched literature. And maths...I studied only half a day (and I forgot how to do maths, in 10th grade). Tommorow I'll have Physics - first part. I'll study it in the few hours in the morning tomorrow. I'm good in it.

Thanks guys! I had the best physics paper in my life today. I made some STUPID mistakes, which I realised one second after submitting the paper, and lost 4 marks of 70 (this was paper 1). But the paper was the easiest! (maybe it was the lucky key chain? I was playing with a key chain during the 5 minutes that I studied, and decided to take it for luck... It worked.)

Jiat, the answer to your question is... Well I was one of the best in Math's until grade 10. In grade ten, I STOPED listening in class and I just got to the point of "did-we-study-this before??!!" on tests. But I do understand maths when I listen. Physics was never tough for me. Don't understand how it might be tough. I have a paper with a list of all the physics formulas that I ever saw in my life on it...I look at it before the exam and that's it. I read the theory a few times, I followed the logic of the matter and I remembered it forever.

The subject I absolutely suck at is chemistry... I guess because I don't study it enough.

lucky you. my fave is biology. it just makes more sense to me than physics. haha... as for chem, i'm ok with it, i HAVE TO. if chem and bio didn't make sense to me, i'd be dead cos they're the fundamentals of pharmacy. haha...

I think they're a really good team actually. Safin is a little bit like Roger Federer in that he's really talented. If anything's missing it's the mental stability. When he plays well he plays unbelievably well, but he has to be a little bit more patient when he doesn't play well and I think Federer is the same kind of player.

What I found hard (coaching him) is that these guys need to learn the game of tennis themselves - it's really hard for someone from the outside to tell them or explain to them. I think Lundgren did a great job with Federer in that he just let him develop in his own time and hopefully with Marat Safin he still has a few more years to be able to do the same thing.

My luck key strap worked for the second time. My French exam (and I don't know a word in french) was about Riger federer, at least the reading comprehension part! I wasn't studying yesterday, but was daydreaming of how it would be if the exam was about Marat. It wasn't about Marat, but Federer was good enough. I needed to end the semester with a 93% but only got a 91%. My professor reduced the weightage of the exams I had done well in and deducted my marks in the final because she could only give two A's (there was a limit on how many A's she would give) in this semester, which is why she pulled my grade down to an A-. :fiery: :sad:

Vass, not all the professors at my university have this policy but some of them do. It's very discouraging because I put in so much work to get an 'A' grade and for it to be pulled down like this is so disappointing. :sad:

Sirius, that's exactly what pissed me off. She never told us that she would be only giving 2 A's. What's even more annoying is this girl was getting a B+ and she pulled her grade up to an A. :rolleyes:

I don't know. My grandparents live 100 and 300km away from Elbrus mountain in south of Russia and I'm going to Moscow. It's Ironic that I'm closer to them now than I'm going to be in Moscow: 1500 km and 2900km... But maybe I'll stil go to them.

Ok my Mom is not a problem now. My Dad had a minor stoke (in a form of jumping blood pressure, headaches, and a bursted capillary in one eye) I think and it seems that he'll be subjected for a lot of testing. The worst part it might not be a stroke but heart problems, kidney problems or liver problems. :rolleyes: Anyways, don't worry that much (I know you'll do anyway). He seems to be very fine.
An amuzing part about that is that he's a very hard aptient. It took forever to send him to a doc. I wonder why some people are like that. They don't want to achnowlege the fact that they are ill... My Grand Ma is the same. When she had a burst appendix twenty years ago she said that the pain was nothing and that she'll walk it off while cleaning the house. :) :confused:

oh...I have to say that sorry to hear that, vass...I hope everything will be better soon! and I think all the people think that they are really fine even they have been ill. I also confused about that... maybe optimism do them a favor to overcome the illness...? I wonder...

Don't let the weather get to you too much. Realise that you need to get through it so that you can appreciate good weather all the more. It's not cold out there, and at least once a year I go out in summer to get soaking wet. Although preferably during a storm and with friends/significant person ;). But alone can be a pretty special experience too, in the right mood. Anyhoo, the next days should be good in our little country, not hot hot hot though.

i'm currently attempting to plan my timetable for next semester and it totally sucks. i've got 3 courses that are essential cos they're my pharmacy courses and i've to pick 2 more. the problem is i've got to try to fit 2 courses that i like and actually wouldn't mind taking, into my pre-existing timetable skeleton already clogged up by my 3 essentials.

problem is, all the modules i like either have class times that clash with my essentials or exam dates that clash. and those i don't like...well... what's the point of looking at them then... URRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My holiday has a delay. The cheap airline hat's the only one that flies to my grand parent's place messed up and sold 10 extra tickets. As a result they had to ask someone to volunteer not to go this week. They took 7 hours get 8 people out and I couldn't volunteer because I was flying only with my brother. It would have lasted forever unless I called my parents and they told me to not to fly. Agh, I stayed up all night just for that! And the rest were so happy that 10 people volunteered that they didn't care to unload my baggage off the plane before they flew alway. Now I have one pair of pants, two t-shirts, and 1 pair of shorts. That's for one weak, until the same plane returns to UAE.

I though of that. In that case I get 20 x 20 dollars (20 dollars per kg of baggage), that is 400 $. For that money I'll buy ten times more clothes than I put into the bag.

What made you discover him?

The first time I saw him was in 2000. I didn't know what tournament it was because I didn't follow tennis. I just saw this gorgeous guy playing tennis and couldn't take my eyes off of him. :drool: The next day my tutor even said something about watching a hot Russian guy play tennis. I was like, Oh my God, we're talking about the same guy here. I was a little obsessed afterwards and searched him on the internet. I found out that he was number 2 at the time and I was like, "Wow, that means he's gorgeous and talented!" However, my obsession diminished after a while and I didn't really care afterwards since tennis wasn't really my thing.
That is until this summer I saw a lot of the Wimbledon coverage and remembered that guy four years ago. I'm more interested in tennis now. I've been on my school's tennis team for two years and love watching the games. Actually, I love watching all the guys play. But my favorite is still Safin because he holds a special place in my heart. :)
