Sebastien Grosjean?

12-12-2008, 08:37 AM
Grosjean has been struggling with shoulder problems since the beginning of the year, tried out all the other options first because he was afraid of a surgery, but he's still in pain after all these months, so he will finally be operated on his shoulder on Monday and will be out for at least another 4-6 months.

There are more informations in his player forum about the injury, for those who are interested ("double fissure aux tendons sous-épineux et sus-épineux").

Given the problems he had this summer, he should have opted for surgery sooner. I hope the surgery goes well.

Yes, it seems now he really lost a lot of time this year. I mean he already said in Marseille that he needed an injection for his shoulder to be able to play.
He was almost considering a retirement a few weeks ago, he now says he wants to play 2-3 more years, but one has to be very motivated to come back from a shoulder surgery by the age of 30.
Anyway, he says today he can't even raise and lower the arm, so he has no other choice, I guess.

sounds like he needs to be having the surgery anyway just for normal living if he cant even raise the arm.
hope he recovers and comes back, i really enjoy watching him play

One of my favourite players...I wish him well, and hopefully myself and other Seb fans get to see a little more of his entertaining tennis before he officially calls time on his career.

Thanks for the news Truc. :yeah:

Speedy recovery.

Poor unlucky dude. He's always been among my favourite players and given this longer break and his age, I actually wonder which direction his career will drift afterwards.

This is really sad news. I hope that he'll continue playing, but it's perfectly understandable if he loses some motivation.

He had shoulder surgery in December (after having struggled with shoulder problems during the entire 2008 season).
He hopes to be back for the grass season. He just started the rehab.

What ever happened to him?, Is he still playing the circuit though injured or did he retire?. I didn't hear anything official regarding articles on his retirement. Was one of my favourite players going back a few years with Tojo and Ivanisevic.

he had a shouldersurgery but as far as I know he is working on a comeback

04-12-2009, 10:57 AM
He's back training after his shoulder surgery in December. But he isn't expected on the tour before the grass season.
