I am curious can JC speak English. I read somewhere that he needs a translator so I can't imagine he be too fluent.

yeah he can. He gives quite a few interviews in English (you can see them on the official sites for the grand slams), but he doesn't speak it very well though lol. And can be a bit hard to understand sometimes...

yeah it is really cute especially i think when he doesnt understand a question and still attempts to answer it
or when he uses "his" words like tennistically, base of the line, pression (my fave  )

Oh i have to say when he speaks in English he just sounds so sexy :hearts:

He's not that great at English, he says 'you know' alot in interviews. But boy does he sound hot :)

He does sound hot doesn't he crazy_fool? There are a ton of you knows in there.

If he spoke really slow spanish with no accent and a minute of waiting after each sentence using only words I know, then I could understand him.

i think he speaks very good english actually. his interviews are hillarious, the looks he gives the interviewer and the words he uses. Gotta love base of the line, tennistically and pression and all of the others. I even laugh every time he says you know, and he says it about 100 times every interview

Hey!!
This is my firts post here :wavey:
Well, i've heard him talking in english in some matches, and i can understand why he makes those kind of mistakes, because i do the same sometimes :)
He translates literally those words, for example winners in the line, he maybe doesn't know the exact word in english, so he has invented a new one in english

BBC conducted an interview with him at Wimbledon during one of the rained off days - I think it was Lucy Rusedski actually and he spoke good English.

I like the way Juan Carlos talks. I have seen videos of him and he seems very sweet and shy.

It seems "you know" is one of the most frequently used expressions in English. Roger Federer says it a lot too, and his English is very good.

Funny thing to me, is that he kept on saying " i know" . The best part was when sometimes we couldn't even understand each other, because of my french accent and his spanish accent. At some point, he just said that we should create our own language! Lol. But the cutest thing he said with his accent was, " look at my knee" like 3 times! Remember Michelle, how we were looking at that knee. Lol

LOL, that's cute!

I like the word "tennistically" too!

An odd little language quirk has cropped up with me recently! I find that the Spanish I learned in high school is starting to come back to me as a result of my interest in Spanish tennis players. Sounds weird, but it's true.

English was my second language (my first was German), so I respect people who learn other languages. Juan Carlos has such a cute accent and a nice voice.
