Wow, no one in the top 45 is missing.
So far. ;)
It's always the same for Master series tounaments. All top players are in the list, then some of them withdraw.

Ljubo is very popular player when he receives WC for Monte Carlo and Madrid. He is not young talented player nor spaniard...
Must admit he played well in Monte Carlo, but still...

go ljubo!!!

ljubo is probably using his connection from when he was a player rep :p he deserves it though...two tms quarters already and playing well above his ranking

Will Roddick play?

05-03-2009, 09:13 AM
So Ljubicic is using his connections to get another wildcard? Surely it is a bit ridiculous when you consider how many options they have of giving it to a Spanish player (probably the country that has the most depth of players).

I think Nalbandian is out becouse he will get a surgery

Pepitorl
05-05-2009, 05:32 PM
It seems that Nalbadián is trying to avoid surgery:

http://www.monstersandcritics.com/sport/tennis/article_1475166.php/Nalbandian_gives_himself_this_week_to_try_and_avoi d_hip_surgery_

On the other hand, Verdasco and Feliciano López were playing yesterday in La Caja Mágica, the new (and great) venue where the Open will take place. La Caja Mágica will be officially opened from the next 8th of May, special day with many important events and surprises, including a Lenny Kravitz´s concert.

But maybe he doesn't need it. Marcel is in if Nalbandián and González don't play! And González won't be in Madrid for sure:

Doubt Nalbandian will play. There was an article in Clarín today saying he is going under hip surgery in Barcelona next week, and if so he would only be able to return to competition next year.

Would be a shame if Monaco didn't get a WC instead of local gimp Granollers, but since MGP is probably getting in directly, the Marca WC could go to Monaco.

Finally the third WC is for Marcel Granollers-Pujol! (Source: Official Web)

That means that Mónaco could be out of MD easily, as there are many candidates for the fourth WC... And when Marcel doesn't need his WC (soon!), maybe the organizers won't respect the Marca contest to reassign it.
