My first impresion of Dani was at Sofia Challenger last year. He came in Bulgaria right after wining a challenger in Germany. He was supposed to play vs Crivoi at the centre court. The game started, Crivoi won the first game, Dani was frustrated cause the crowd was cheering for his opponent. Then he started to throw balls at the ballguys and retired at 0-3. He definately is a good player but his attitude needs improving =)

This is the first time I have been able to watch Dan. I am not sure what I expected but he stayed in control the majority of the match against Andy and that impressed me. In the past I have read some negatives about him, but I decided to wait to see him play before I made up my mind. Right now I have a good feeling about his potential. He is number 2 in Autria and deserves it. I hope all Austrians do well this year.

Next Round against Philipp Petzschner (GER)

Dani ended up losing to Petzschner 1-6 4-6 in R2 of Munich, but the 25 points he gained from the tournament by winning his first round match will get him a couple of positions up in the rankings, putting him close to the top 100 (he is currently #106) with nothing significant to defend until August.

Dani is scheduled to play the challenger in Zagreb, Croatia next week and will be one of the top seeds, good luck to him and hopefully he has a good result and gets back in the top 100 where he belongs!!!

Here is the draw for the tournament starting Monday in Zagreb:

http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/588/mds.pdf

Del Bonis in R1 is about as hard of a draw as Dani could have, so he will need to fight through that first match, and if he does, the SFs are very possible for him.

Good luck in Croatia Dani!

Crazy Dani and Del Bonis are the last match on the center court tomorrow.

Hopefully Dani can come through with the victory, and it will be a tough match most certainly, as Del Bo is one of the best young talents, especially on clay. If Dani plays at his best and uses his experience to his advantage, he can come through with the victory.

Good luck Daniel!

Dani retired with a right leg injury down 1-4 in the first set. As expected there were antics throughout the match, and Dani didn't look well from the beginning of the match. This was always going to be a difficult match for him to win, but sad to see him lose due to injury. Hopefully he's alright for future tournaments.

Daniel is defending over 200 points in the next month, unfortunately it looks like he's not going to finish near the top 100 this season. His results have been awful all season, he's been dealing with injuries, and his usual crazy antics. Hopefully he can have a turn around in results soon.

Daniel Koellerer loses appeal of ban
http://espn.go.com/tennis/story/_/id/7727747/daniel-koellerer-austria-loses-appeal-lifetime-ban-match-fixing

LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- Austrian tennis player Daniel Koellerer became the first player banned for life for match-fixing, losing his appeal at sport's highest court on Friday.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport dismissed the challenge to a ban imposed by the Tennis Integrity Unit created by the professional tours and international governing body.

Koellerer allegedly "made invitations to other tennis players to fix matches on five occasions," the court said in a statement. "The panel ruled that the tennis governing bodies had met their burden of proof."

However, the court decided Koellerer should not pay a $100,000 fine previously ordered.

"The player did not benefit financially from any of the charges for which he has been found liable," according to the panel of three arbitrators.

Koellerer was the first player banned for life for attempted corruption after being found guilty of violations from October 2009 to July 2010.

He challenged his expulsion at a two-day CAS hearing held last November. The court upheld his ban, "acknowledging that the sanction was sufficiently high enough to reflect the seriousness of the corruption offences."

Koellerer's ranking peaked at No. 55 in October 2009.
