SJ: Roddick df Gulbis 6-3 7-6FlameOn 02-13-2009, 06:01 AM Expected from A-Rod. JimmyV 02-13-2009, 06:17 AM I'd say this was a good win, but Gulbis always loses second round. Mario Sharapov 02-13-2009, 06:33 AM Go A-Rod! He is playing well this year! FlameOn 02-13-2009, 06:37 AM Go A-Rod! He is playing well this year! He really is. If Nadal and Federer get exited prematurely from Wimbledon or USO, they could be his for the taking. Seems unlikely though. HattonWBA 02-13-2009, 07:03 AM Gulbis loses in the 2nd round. what a suprise, well done roddick, should get to the final although in a very tough half of the draw Saumon 02-13-2009, 07:49 AM The streak is still alive! :rocker2: :help: delpiero7 02-13-2009, 07:51 AM Gulbis lost in the 2nd round?! Does anyone know if this has ever happened before, please? sammy01 02-13-2009, 07:53 AM im pleased roddick is working hard this year and getting the results, i'd like to see him make up the top 5 for most of the year. Snowwy 02-13-2009, 10:42 AM Shocking.. DartMarcus 02-13-2009, 11:01 AM Andy got out-aced 3rdtime in a row :haha: Mario Sharapov 02-13-2009, 11:07 AM Andy got out-aced 3rdtime in a row :haha: It doesn't matter as long as he keeps winning :D sammy01 02-13-2009, 11:13 AM Andy got out-aced 3rdtime in a row :haha: he gets called nothing but a serve when he hits aces and laughed out when out aced yet wins, people can be tough on roddick. andylovesaustin 02-13-2009, 11:18 AM Go Andy Goooooooooooooooooo! :rocker2: jcempire 02-13-2009, 11:20 AM this normal expect a win miura 02-13-2009, 11:57 AM Gulbis lost in the 2nd round?! Does anyone know if this has ever happened before, please? You've got to admit that he tends to have a quite hard second rounds though ;) Johnny Groove 02-13-2009, 12:00 PM You've got to admit that he tends to have a quite hard second rounds though ;) Like Ivan Dodig? :tape:  I know what you mean though. He's lost to Roddick twice, Andreev, JMDP, Murray, Nadal, Gonzalez, and Tipsarevic all since the USO :o Mario Sharapov 02-13-2009, 12:13 PM Ernests is pretty unlucky. I think he would've been ranked higher now if not because of those sucky draw. lol Andi-M 02-13-2009, 12:19 PM Like Ivan Dodig? :tape:  I know what you mean though. He's lost to Roddick twice, Andreev, JMDP, Murray, Nadal, Gonzalez, and Tipsarevic all since the USO :o If he's as good as his hype he should be able to get a victory or 2 at least out of those. He's not seeded therefore does not deserve easy 2nd rounds. reggie1 02-13-2009, 12:30 PM I think he gets terrible draws personally. It seems since I have been following him (he first got my attention when he took a set of Rafa at wimbly) he does seem to be unlucky with his opponents. I know others will say he if he's the real deal he will beat these people but I honestly don't think Gulbis is always that confident and focused on court. He needs wins that can consolidate his confidence to gain further wins and keep getting knocked out 1st/2nd round will just not do this. He also needs to play more players whom are of a similar ranking to him imo so as to get some really close matches and to learn how to fight AND realise that he is capable of fighting out there. I just think he is the kind of player who needs to be on that learning curve on a regular basis before he will come to any kind of fruition. I really hope it happens soon because when he's on he's really exciting to watch. tangerine_dream 02-13-2009, 03:49 PM This is a good win for Andy. He passed the first test. :clap2: Now comes the Hass test. Five Americans in the SAP QFs, good run for the US boys. :) Andy got out-aced 3rdtime in a row :haha:  He gets out aced a lot. Keep on winning, Andy. :drive: GlennMirnyi 02-13-2009, 03:53 PM Gulbis is the real deal. NOT! Deboogle!. 02-13-2009, 03:56 PM Andy got out-aced 3rdtime in a row :haha:Apparently his serve hit 150mph last night, who cares if it was an ace or if the guy got the tip of his racquet on that, it's good enough  tennizen 02-13-2009, 03:59 PM Gulbis:o The eternal second rounder roberthenman 02-13-2009, 04:00 PM i think that Gulbis would earned a set HattonWBA 02-13-2009, 04:03 PM Gulbis is over rated, well done Roddick star 02-13-2009, 04:04 PM :bigclap: Andy  Gulbis Mario Sharapov 02-13-2009, 04:04 PM i think that Gulbis would earned a set Me too when Andy faced 3 break points (0-40) on his serve in the 2nd set but he managed to get that game. NinaNina19 02-13-2009, 10:12 PM He really is. If Nadal and Federer get exited prematurely from Wimbledon or USO, they could be his for the taking. Seems unlikely though.
