Felt Bolleli should have won. Tho tbh i feel Nadal won't get very far here.

Nadal needs to stop being an idiot in these tournaments. There is no reason he should have been on court for 2.5 hours today. This leads to faster wear and tear on his body. His OCD is going to shorten his career.

Not a good performance, but enough to get through. He needs to play better in the second round, 'nuff said.

I don't think he did it on purpose  He would prefer winning in an hour but apparently he can't do that right now. And tanking the match is not really an option because it would look funny to the organizers and ATP.

That's the most important thing. Had his ass not looked amazing the result could have been very different.

To be honest, most of those failed BPs happened in the same game, 1 0 in the third, Rafa got 3 BPs (0 40). Bolelli reacted fine, and there was an interminable deuce after that which eventually Simone won. Who cares, really, this reminded me of his first match at the olympics.

In MM indoor tournaments that is the most important thing

I know he didn't do it on purpose, but in these lower-level tournies he needs to be more aggressive and push the issue. When Fed was number 1, he pretty much decided he didn't want to be on court for 90 minutes in any best of 3 match that wasn't a final. Nadal needs to take that approach. He is too OCD to do it though.

Good association :D

I wish Bolleli hadn't won that match :( I agree with Sammy, he has potential to be in Top 20 but has to win matches like this one to open the draw for many ranking points :o

Yummy! I agree; he is too funny and cute.

But these 4 set matches in the early rounds, no. I swear he is not going to be able to keep this up physically. He's a great player--and mentally probabaly the best. But goodness, I wish he could win a bit quicker.

I am really afraid he might not be around very long.
