I've always said that to beat Nadal in the French Open, there was ONLY ONE way :

make a superb drop shot just beside the post, with a little bit sliced effect :

he comes to take it running like crazy as usual ... and hurts the post.

That's the tactics which Wilander had advised Federer to beat Nadal in the French ;)

(at least I believe so because he said he had a tactics to beat Nadal in the French ... and it's impossible with another way)

Great players always have great strategy ;)

Off topic mate.

Federer needs Nadal to be injured or really ill to win FO, if he is lucky.

Heh, I don't think anything Fed does will make a difference, although yes I would like to see them both in the final again

Lol, its not going to make any difference in the French, but Nadal really tagets Feds backhand moreso than any other player i have seen. I think this is the difference between the two players at the moment, with Nadal's high kicking groundies, Feds cant generate enough backhand pace one handed, and Nadal attacks the short reply

Actually there's another way for Nadal to be beaten in the French :

that the organizers use very very light balls which don't take the lift at all like in Roland-Garros 1976 :

it was the only way Borg was beaten there

(with the first edition in 1973 when he was 17 years old ... but Nadal didn't take part in Roland-Garros 2003 and 2004 when he was 17-18)

But apart from that, Borg was never beaten in Roland-Garros ...

He needs to get Tonya Harding's husband involved somehow...

And hopefully not make a sextape after

Nah all they need to do is speed up the french as much as they slowed down Wimbledon, that should do it.

It's impossible to speed up clay as much as you can slow down grass.

Get a 2-handed backhand and he should win the FO. Easier said than done..

And he needs to attack Mugboar's second serve and not play like he is scared of him.

Yes, What I don't understand is why Federer just doesnt run around the backhand, 90% of serves go there.

Sometimes I get the feeling that he wants to use his backhand... I have no idea why he would want to since its his worst shot.

Well he thinks it will improve. But frankly, I don't think it can improve.

No, he shouldn't use a 2 handed backhand, not only is Federer's one hander better than Nadal's backhand, but no other player (except for Nalbandian maybe) has a better backhand.

Gasquet you may saw has a better BH, but in Federer's matches against Gasquet, Fed's BH absolutely rapes Gasquet's, every single time.

Amen to that!
That is how James and everyone else beats Nadal! The red stuff is more difficult but he still needs to attack!
