Every sub-forum on this forum has a chat thread so there is a big need for it in the JC area, especially now that we are a lot of fans here. This should be a place for fans to know themselves better (not only concerning thair names but also their likes and all that stuff) y'know, like a chat thread :D ! I'm sure u got the point! Now I'm off cos I gotta go to the gym! :sport:

Yes Iza, I was thinking about it and I was about to PM you on this. You are fast. :yeah:

So to all fellow Juanqui fans, this is me.

I work as an Admin - Exec in a software consultancy. I've been watching Juanqui from 2001, but I've been watching tennis from 1992 onwards. Since tennis is not that popular sport in India, they hardly show matches on TV. But my new cable operator gives me some good sports channel, where I get to watch a few tournaments, though most of it comes when I'm at office or late at night.

hi juanqui fans.
my real name is Mary-Lee. i live in Australia. i still go to school, but don't think because i'm young i'm not a big juanqui fan. I fell in love with him when i saw him play roger federer in this years australian open, and since then i've been addicted to him. At school i love music. I want to be a music teacher when i grow up. I play the electronic organ, and i like classical music. I also want to go to all the grand slams when i'm older, but right now i'm just trying to convince my mum to let me go to the Australian Open.

hey, juanqui fans :bigwave:

really great idea, Iza!! :yeah:

so then, this is me:

My name is the same as my username: Corinna.
Just like Mary-Lee I still go to school.
I got a juanqui fan when I first saw him playing at RG last year.
In Germany, you aren't shown lots of tournaments. So I want to go to some.
My fav Grand Slam is RG.
I play Badminton but I'd prefer playing tennis.

I've been a fan of Juan Carlos since 2002 when Juan got into the RG final...I just thought his game was really nice to watch and still is! :D And hopefully when I'm older and rich I can go round the world to watch all the tournys that JC is in. :p

Hi everyone. You guys can call me Lynne. I am 16 years old. ( btw, there are a lot of 16 year old fans here!! ) I am currently studying Form 4 in secondary school-which is the same thing as high school. I became a fan of Juanqui in 2003. I love music as well and I play the piano. I'd love to take up drums someday. I enjoy all sorts of music-pop, rock, hip-hop, classical.......And I hope that someday I'll be able to go to various tourneys and watch some matches, get some autographs, stuff like that.

( Great thread, Iza!! ) :)

Hi :wavey:

I'm 17 years old, from England, I live just near London. At the moment I am studying A-Levels at college in Chemistry, Biology and Physical Education. I hope to eventually go into a career in Sports Administration or Physiotherapy.

And yeah, you look great Iza!!

But I should warn you that Iza also has that idea ;)

Now I see most of the guys are europeans, so you all must be interested in Soccer as well. I recently read an article on web saying that Juanqui supports Valencia, not Real Madrid as we all thought.

He's probably a bit of both (I mean RM & Valencia supporter)...... he mentions that because his dad supports RM, he supports them too. But then he's from Valencia! So he probably likes that team too!

Hi ppl...I'm Emily...I'm 19 (I feel a bit old in this forum!) from Perth, Australia and I have liked JC since 2001...I've seen him play quite a few times and have met him a few times also...every time he's been really nice and happy to chat...and this year he actually remembered who I was when I saw him in Valencia which was really unbelievable! I'm a university student but I took last semester off and went to study Spanish in Valencia and I hope to be going back there to live for 6 months next year!!!
As for the football teams, as far as I know, JC supports Real Madrid first, then Valencia then FC Barcelona. Some of the people in Valencia don't like him because he supports Real Madrid instead of Valencia even though he's from the Valencia province hehe...but he did say that he was very happy for Valencia when they won the Liga and the UEFA Cup this year...because he is, afterall, a valenciano!

:wavey: Hi all
My name´s Ruth I´m 23 and I come from Spain.
I became a Ferrero supporter :worship: last year (2003) while watching on Tv one of his matches during the Australian Open. Since then I´ve watched on tv all his matches. I even went to the Valencia final this year, but I couldn´t see him, because he lost in the previous round against Verdasco:sad: .
I´ve never seen him in person, but I have a signed picture of him.
I recieved it as a reply to the letter I sent him to cheer him up when he lost his two matches at the Davis Cup final in Australia.
Appart from watching and playing tennis ;) , I love listening to music, going to the cinema and reading.

yeah she does esp. in grand slams. This Olympic final would be amazing esp. cos my other fave (Kim) isn't here. Let's keep our fingers crossed for them and hope they won't get injured!

About points I think the guys get 400 points if they win. (That's what Sandra on this forum told me; if it's not true blame it on her :p)

yeah, and it will be till the end. that's where romania HAS to win medals. the american gymnasts (the girls) have Romanian coaches so it's kinda normal for them to have good results. but the romanians have always been great @ this so we're gonna prove that we are the best. :)

hey, i don't see why people are so sad about his lost. I mean sure, he's out of the olympics, but he played an excellent match against a good player. he's back in form, he's winning matches again, and we can expect him to win major titles again soon. Roger federer lost in the same round of the olympics, so he did just as good as rogi in the olympics. I'm just grateful that he's back in form, and expecting big things from him in the near future, hopefully he'll play a great US Open and will win heaps of tourneys.

I was only upset because the Olympics is once every 4 years and JC has stated many times his dream to win a gold medal. Who knows what he will be doing in 4 years time? this might have been his only realistic chance

Juan Carlos, you came there espesially to study there? is JC a good coach?

aIrSaMpRaS14
08-23-2004, 09:41 PM
Yes I went specially to train there. JC didn't coach me, he was only there about 2-3 times a month and he just let us get on with it. I got coached by several coaches but it was also about fitness and I had to learn like at school aswell, and be seperated from my family for 3 years. It was very difficult, even though I am grateful for the experience. And I now know that JC is an amazing person!

What is 6.0 USTA ranking, Juan Carlos??

aIrSaMpRaS14
08-24-2004, 11:13 AM
1.0 - This player is just starting to play tennis.

1.5 - This player has limited playing experience and is still working primarily on getting the ball over the net; has some knowledge of scoring but is not familiar with basic positions and procedures for singles and doubles play.

2.0 - This player may have had some lessons but needs on-court experience; has obvious stroke weaknesses but is beginning to feel comfortable with singles and doubles play.

2.5 - This player has more dependable strokes and is learning to judge where the ball is going; has weak court coverage or is often caught out of position, but is starting to keep the ball in play with other players of same ability.

3.0 - This player can place shots with moderate success; can sustain a rally of slow pace but is not comfortable with all strokes; lacks control when trying for power.

3.5 - This player has achieved stroke dependability and direction on shots within reach, including forehand and backhand volleys, but still lacks depth and variety; seldom double faults and occasionally forces errors on the serve.

4.0 - This player has dependable strokes on both forehand and backhand sides; has the ability to use a variety of shots including lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys; can place the first serve and force some errors; is seldom out of position in a doubles game.

4.5 - This player has begun to master the use of power and spins; has sound footwork; can control depth of shots and is able to move opponent up and back; can hit first serve with power and accuracy and place the second serve; is able to rush the net with some success on serve in singles as well as doubles.

5.0 - This player has good shot anticipation; frequently has an outstanding shot or exceptional consistency around which a game may be structured; can regularly hit winners or force errors off of short balls; can successfully execute lobs, drop shots, half volleys and overhead smashes; has good depth and spin on most second serves.

5.5 - This player can execute all strokes offensively and defensively; can hit dependable shots under pressure; is able to analyze opponents' style and can employ patterns of play to assure the greatest possibility of winning points; can hit winners or force errors with both first and second serves. Return of serve can be an offensive weapon.

6.0 - This player has mastered all of the above skills; has developed power and/or consistency as a major weapon; can vary strategies and styles of play in a competitive situation. This player typically has had inten-sive training for national competition at junior or collegiate levels.

6.5 - This player has mastered all of the above skills and is an experienced tournament competitor who regularly travels for competition and whose income may be partially derived from prize winnings.

* 7.0 - This is a world class player.

hi corinna :wavey:

i just came from a mountain resort (that's why i didn't log in lately ;) ) and I had tons of fun with my best friend and I can't wait 2 c the USO! I'm very happy @ the mo cos Real won their 1st match of the season with Mallorca and my hometown football team ( CFR Cluj) who play in Romanian 1st division (and are newly promoted) beat the champions Dinamo Bucharest 4-2 !!!!!! :woohoo: !!!
Now that the Olympix are over, what is your general impression about this competition?

Corinna

Owen is crap anyway, waste of money imo. Liverpool were glad to get rid of the donkey.

i believe it wasn't a good deal for real madrid... they got morientes anyway , so what's the need of owen

Just like Man U (sorry goin off the Owen subject here) in my opinion Man U dont need ne more strikers...they need more defenders! They cant put all of the strikers up at the same time and ofcourse Sir Alex will always have his favourite up first which means that the other strikers wont get a chance to play as often...just like Dwight Yorke, and theyve sold him already.

BUY MORE DEFENDERS!!

Actually, I watch football because of some individual players, I like most - like Zidane. If he moves to another club, automatically that club becomes my favourite.

i love Zizou & Roberto Carlos 2! I think Owen was quite alright on Sunday but not as I expected. I feel sorry for Raul cos he's in such a bad form lately
I was sure Rooney was going to end up @ Man Utd or somwhere...I even won a bet w/one of my friends cos I was saying that Rooney won't remain @ Everton :).
Outta the teams in England I absolutely love Arsenal! My fave is Pires :hearts: ! But Real remain my fave no matter what and I like the club not necesarily a player.

(poor Mary  ! we're boring u with all this stuff about football!)

Lynsey, reyes is good and I like Henry as well. He is one of the reasons they remained unbeatable last year.

If we keep talking football, I think Mary will stop visiting this forum. :)
