Mats Wilander considers Stefan Edberg for Swedish DC-team

Mats Wilanders says Stefan Edberg would be an option in the DC tie against Israel. "On a fast indoor court, I am positive he would win against Israel's no 2."

Edberg himself said he was flattered but that his participation was unlikely. Wilander hasn't asked Edberg yet, he first wants to see how Thomas Johansson's comeback is going.

Given that PimPim and T Johansson can't play (Dumbo might recover from surgery just in time), Mats Wilander does not have many options. Ryderstedt and Eleskovic aren't in good form and Rehnqvist is a nerve wreck. Having seen Edberg play recently in Royal Albert Hall, I am not convinced he is a better choice than Rehnqvist.

great little publicity stunt by mats. Awareness of the tie has probably increased by about 500%. Should be good for ticket sales.
