But if Murray wins it expect Nando to get a couple more games then he gave Sexy. green25814 01-24-2009, 09:55 AM Nando in 5 :rocker2:  You never stop hoping eh? ;) biological 01-24-2009, 09:56 AM  You never stop hoping eh? ;) never :p MatchFederer 01-24-2009, 10:42 AM Murray to burn Verdasco in 3. jazar 01-24-2009, 10:44 AM verdasco is in imperious form and will tear murray limb from limb Deivid23 01-24-2009, 10:44 AM No chance for Verdasco to win 3 sets, but he will keep it relatively close I think. Muzza in 4 Xenosys 01-24-2009, 10:44 AM I'd say Muz in 4. If he grabs the first set, could be 3. ciprianned 01-24-2009, 10:45 AM Murray in 5 :D:D:D Henry Chinaski 01-24-2009, 10:49 AM Lefty-killa Murray will win comfortably. Nadal is the only southpaw to ever beat him on the main tour. Alessio di Mauro in the Barletta Challenger in summer 2005 was his last defeat to anyone else. If Nando brings his a-game he might sneak a set NYCtennisfan 01-24-2009, 10:51 AM Murray in 4 probably. Verdasco is hitting the ball well enough take a set and make another one really close I think. I just hope this match is better than the one these two played at the AO in 2007, a match that turned out to be one of the ugliest matches played all of that year. Voo de Mar 01-24-2009, 12:49 PM It's a tricky match because depends on the conditions. If the match is playing in night session, Verdasco will lose. However the Spaniard has a good chance to win it in day session. ORGASMATRON 01-24-2009, 10:58 PM I didnt see much of the Nando vs Stepanek match but he must have played some awesome tennis to give Crapanek two bagels. Do you think he can upset Murray? betterthanhenman 01-24-2009, 10:59 PM No Pretty easy for Murray Certinfy 01-24-2009, 11:00 PM Murray in 4, can't see Verdasco winning this tbh. But i could see a tight match here. habibko 01-24-2009, 11:11 PM I'm starting to get the feeling this will be much straight forward win for Murray, dunno why. habibko 01-24-2009, 11:12 PM at least check before posting if a thread has been made already http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?p=8062815 ORGASMATRON 01-24-2009, 11:18 PM This thread was before mine? You can associate "0" with a ball, can't you? ;) :p scoobs 01-25-2009, 08:25 AM Verdasco may be more confident but he's still the same impatient, combustible player. Murray will annoy him as usual and frustrate the errors out of him. CescAndyKimi 01-25-2009, 04:35 PM Muzza in straight sets! (hopefully). Verdasco is a perfect match up for him, wonder if it will be as ugly and scrappy as that win two years ago in the burning heat. Albop 01-25-2009, 08:18 PM I don't see what could Verdasco do to trouble Murray. Easy 3 sets win for the favourite to title. MalwareDie 01-25-2009, 08:19 PM Verdasco will be thrashed by Murray. He doesn't have a chance. tangerine_dream 01-25-2009, 09:12 PM What's this I hear about Murray suffering a touch of the flu? Is he trying to psyche his opponents out? Murray is a sore winner in Oz Not even a spot of flu seems capable of putting Andy Murray off his quest to become the first British male singles grand slam winner in 73 years. "Murray's 7-5, 6-0, 6-3 victory [over Jurgen Melzer] put him through into the fourth round, which equalled his longest ever run on a draw-sheet at Melbourne Park, and set up Monday's meeting with Fernando Verdasco, of Spain," writes Mark Hodgkinson in the Sunday Telegraph. "And what made the quality of Murray's tennis all the more impressive was that he spent much of Friday in his hotel room after complaining of a sore throat, a sore head and 'just generally not feeling that great'." MalwareDie 01-25-2009, 09:24 PM What's this I hear about Murray suffering a touch of the flu? Is he trying to psyche his opponents out? I didn't watch the match. But supposedly he had a cold sore on his face somewhere that proved he had the flu. Corey Feldman 01-25-2009, 09:25 PM i wish that spot on the side of Muzza's lip would go away already Lullaby 01-25-2009, 09:44 PM man flu - life threatening illness and still giving the bagel to melzer :worship: meihaditalab 01-25-2009, 09:54 PM Verdasco in 4, with the way he's playing and in this shape i think he could burn Murray. Clydey 01-25-2009, 11:02 PM i wish that spot on the side of Muzza's lip would go away already It's a pretty ugly cold sore. safinafan 01-25-2009, 11:04 PM Nando in 4 sets!!! Henry Chinaski 01-25-2009, 11:25 PM It's a tricky match because depends on the conditions. If the match is playing in night session, Verdasco will lose. However the Spaniard has a good chance to win it in day session. why would a day session suit Verdasco? Murray is the much fitter player. scoobs 01-25-2009, 11:33 PM Murray beat Verdasco in straight sets 2 years ago in a searing heat day session. BaselineSmash 01-26-2009, 02:08 AM Murray in 4 probably. Verdasco is hitting the ball well enough take a set and make another one really close I think. I just hope this match is better than the one these two played at the AO in 2007, a match that turned out to be one of the ugliest matches played all of that year. Agreed, the AO match was poor, but the one in Dubai '08 almost made me vomit with boredom. Murray v. Verdasco matches really are the apex of stultification in the men's game. If every top-level match-up played out like theirs, there would be more batches of tumbleweed in the Rod Laver Arena than spectators. Fernando has a dream, a recurrent dream, in which rallies last no more than six shots and always end with a winner from him, preferably on the forehand side. Murray sets out to thwart Verdasco's dreams with yawnsome soft-balling and the odd flash of counter-punching brilliance. The Spaniard obliges with a succession of freakishly bad misses and embarassing attempts on the simplest of put-aways; he's usually a comically frustrated, angry figure at the end of these enocounters. Fortunately, Fernando seems to be bringing a bit more in 2009, and if he cuts out those silly errors he may just force Murray to turn up and PLAY. If we get proactive tactics on both sides of the net, this could be the first enjoyable match they play against one another. Murray in a moderately exciting four sets. pogotheorist 01-26-2009, 03:40 AM I've started a thread for this match in the Current Tournaments forum and invite anyone interested in real-time commentary to go there. No prediction from me, but a worry that Muzza will start too slow as he often does and give away the first set. orangehat 01-26-2009, 03:41 AM Interesting match to see and hopefully the better player will win. Strike that. Come on Nando! Voo de Mar 01-26-2009, 07:07 AM Nando in 5! :p VAMOS NANDO, CON UN PAR DE COJONES!! :rocker2: What do you mean? :aplot: Somethin' like 4-6 6-0 3-6 7-6 6-0? ;) 2-6 6-1 1-6 6-3 6-4 MrsFedex, we predicted it  Different scoreline but the same setup of winning sets :bounce: It's a tricky match because depends on the conditions. If the match is playing in night session, Verdasco will lose. However the Spaniard has a good chance to win it in day session. why would a day session suit Verdasco? Murray is the much fitter player. Two things Henry: 1) Murray played all matches this year in night session (excluding a joke against Pavel), Verdsco has played all matches this year in day session, so the new conditions are always a challenge, it was a challenge for Murray... 2) As I said earlier in one of threads, Verdasco has been playing from the baseline the best tennis I've seen since Marcelo Rios in 1998 (he was No. 1 then), Murray has had some infection, so obviously he should have been phisically affected by Verdasco's groundstroke game which require amazing run across the whole court, and he was, especially after tense 6th game of the final set (therefore he lost his serve in the next game) Voo de Mar 01-26-2009, 07:18 AM And Murray hasn't been fitter than Nando since the Spaniard worked out the off-season with Gil Reyes in Las Vegas :yeah: Crazy Girl 01-26-2009, 10:24 AM Murray. 5.:smash:Crazy....:smash: I was sure about 5!!
