Fernando keeps destroying opponents.

But seriously, this match is more about Radek. I have never seen him play so horribly. Up a break in the first then loses 15 games in a row. WTF?? Absolutely pathetic.

That was bad.

Radek was clearly not fit and should have retired. It ended pretty bad for him. Verdasco was celebrating points like he was playing the Umag final. A complete and utter douchebag he is. Murray will embarras this tool.

Sexy Radek looked knackered in the first set.

Still, double bagel vs a top25 opponents at this stage of a slam has to be respected. Kudos to Forehando, and a big warning for Murray.

Easier than I expected Nando :) But he's in tremendous form this year in Australia.
I haven't seen such a diversity of groundstrokes (playing with easiness) since Marcelo Rios in 1998.

Verdasco looked great out there. I guess that offseason fitness training with Gil Reyes has really helped. His forehand is ridiculous and it seems as if he is putting it together. Its only a matter of time before he makes the top 10. Obviously Stepanek wasn't at his best, but this was still a drubbing and if Stepanek was hurt that badly he probably shouldn't have played.

Hehe, doesn't mean I can't be objective - I actually rather like Verdasco's style, was cheering him on last Wimbledon. If he does beat Murray, I'll hope for him to beat Tsonga.

However, that record is pretty damning, you must admit. If you saw the St Petersburg match it's fairly obvious how it happens too - he just can't handle Murray's style of play.

It was 3-0, but not very meaningful imo. In their first meeting Forehando was 20yrs and ranked something like 100 in the world. In their 2nd match he was 22yrs and 30th, and it was on grass, hardly a surface he was used to at the time, and it still went to 5 sets.

The 3rd was just last week in Brisbane - Stepanek won in 3.

I hope Nando can at least challenge Murray and make it difficult for him in the 4th. I can't see him getting past him but putting in a solid performance would go over nicely.

I think it's mainly a Davis Cup effect. He won deciding match for Spain and has already written his surname in the history of tennis. He has been playing without the self-pressure since then and fullfills the potential which had been known before that DC final.

He's far from good sportsmanship.
It's a Slam, players go there and fight for it, often not in tip-top shape or even injured. That doesn't happen at "normal" tournaments. I didn't see the match but judging from the scoreline it's clear that Stepanek had some problems. Credit to him for showing up and not quiting. If local posters weren't so shallow they would find that Stepanek is a great guy, which is apparent from his interviews, and has very nice old school game, unlike "hot" Verdasco whose game puts me in sleep after several minutes of watching.

I'm not sure why people are getting so excited about Verdasco's form here. He's crushed Mannarino and Clement, two players who have had one good result in the last year, and a clearly injured Stepanek. And despite receiving no opposition yesterday, he still felt the need to showboat after like every game. It was really pathetic. (At least when Steps does it, it's on big points and his opponents are actually in the match.)

It's a shame Steps was injured as this could've been a fun match. Their previous matches suggest that. Anyway, Verdasco will be no match for Murray. He might win a set at best.

Way to go Tobasco!! What an agonising way to lose Stepanek...but I am very happy about the double bagel. I just hope that Nando's mind holds up and that he keeps those UE's to an absolute minimum. If he does that and attacks Murray's second serve whilst also keeping his lovely forehands penetratring, I can see him do some damage to Muzza's game.
