While all attentions are foccused on the AO Gaudio made a successful comeback at this Chilean challenger. The match was suspended yesterday by lack of naturak light with 6-0 4-5 and Gaudio serving. Today he was broken to lose the set but stayed foccused and won the 3rd, which is a good sign considering it's Gaudio we are talking about.
It's not possible to make any anylisis only after this match, but him winning is the best thing that could have happened to him at his comeback.

Imagine another Coria - Gaudio French Open final next year
Never going to happen. But it would be nice to see Gaudio making it into top 100 and playing proper tournaments again. One of the best backhands ever!

Great news!:worship: He´s been training all out and now he needs a few wins to boost his confidence and prove it was worth it!
Unfortunately he´s now up against the "Gato II", Hartfield, who´s a great admirer and also a friend, and we know how difficult it is for Gastón to play against friends...
I hope he can put that aside and go on to win this challenger!:D

Very nice for starters. Every win for him must be a big confidence boost now.
I'd also like to point out Zabaleta also won his comeback match in the same challenger.

Vamos Gaston y Mariano!
Di Mauro is a good win first up, Hartfield might be too much.
He did it again in 3 sets, the victim was the other "Gato", Diego Hartfield :)
2 wins in a row is quite a good thing at the moment and he's staying healthy which is pretty important too :yeah:

Wow Zabaleta and Gaudio in the same tournament, any more mugs down there?
Gaudio has come back from a long injury, so it's expected for him to start a low-level tournament. And this mug you call, he has a Grand Slam to his name.

I find it puzzling how every single player in the top 100 regularly gets called a mug, but Gaudio of all people should be exempt.

I dont think is a great win, but iam happy for him.
hartfield is not the same as 2007, he is coming over a knee injury :S

I've never really understood that logic. Does coming from a certain country have much to do with an athlete's personality, looks or game/ability? It's great supporting your own countrymen, but I draw the line if I'd probably dislike the guy were he of a different nationality.
But if you genuinely like the players, then there's absolutely no problem. :D

This is really bad news! He´s been training so hard, and was very enthusiastic because he said he had "moments" of good tennis again.
Now he won´t get a WC for Chile, and even if he´s well enough to play the Buenos Aires ATP he´ll get there with no match practice. All in all, a stroke of bad luck at the worst possible moment!

And atleast they have been to the "upper echelon", nobody stays up there forever. What's wrong with that?
