andy's volleys were pretty crisp today, he must have worked on his net game quite a lot. also, his slice was much better than it used to be a year ago or so. roddick's one of the few guys out there where you can be sure that he can up the ante when needed. he did so today and once he really took it to malisse, the belgian was done.

Was Malisse injured? I didn't watch after the first set.

Malisse took the piss on this bp at 3-3 in the first. :worship:

Malisse had an injury time out (the trainer massaged his right thigh) but I don't think that this was a major problem.

Xavier doesn't have the sort of shape to play a 5 setter. He needs to get in shape and lose weight.

there was a medical time-out in the second set, he seemed to have problems with his thigh. it didn't seem to bother him lateron though.

I was at the first couple of sets, malisse frustated Roddick for a while, hit some nice forehand winenrs and andy played a loose game to lose his serve. Was coming in to the net on a bit of hope most of the time. that improved in the 2nd set while Malisse' game fell a level.

Does anyone know what was going on with those towels? Wasn't Malisse allowed to take one with him to the back of the court? Did anyone get that?

from what I saw, last few sets Roddick was playing well within himself, and he seems to have vastly improved his net game in all aspects of it. Malisse looked a little lost out there after a while, and by the start of the 4th set you could sense he was already gone.

Solid, comprehensive win by A-Rod

I tell you what don't be shocked folks when Roddick and Djokovic meet up for that spot in the Semi's. I really do hope it gets there and these guys meet up. I'm still waiting on that 5th set they should've played at the US Open last year.

Andy's draw is flush! There is no reason he shouldn't be in the Quarterfinals with Novak. We've had a surprise finalist 3 years running boys, is Roddick going to make it 4?

X-man should of gone 2-1 sets up.

This draw is starting to REALLY open for Andy. Fat Dave gone; Kohl gone...watch out for the fireworks if he plays Novak in the quarters.

While we often love to make fireworks here in Belgrade, I don't think Roddick is a big enough to make one when Novak humiliate him in the next days. He still owes to a jerk.;)

Much better performance from Andy. The Xman is a good test for him, he always pushes Andy even though Andy pretty much owns him. His serve was cracking, he was actually ripping some forehands  , good volleys  , job well done. Keep it up for the rest of the week, Quacker. :drive:
