Nice win for him, been through some hard time. Always good to see these Greeks and Cypriots celebrating. Hopefully Xristos was there too.

Soderling lost in almost identical circumastances his last match at Roland Garros to Benneteau.

Soderling gets a lead, then blows it in straights to go out in a GS?

Surely you jest

Soderling had blisters

on his brain.

when you're serving to stay in the set down 15-30 and your opponent hits a shot that although it lands on the baseline is still very much in your hitting zone you don't stop playing, whinge to the ump then go and insult the lino because of blisters (on a court without hawkeye no less). He'll prob get fined as well because the lino snitched.

You can always count on Soderling to bomb out in the initial rounds of a Slam. He will always be the indoor MM king.

Swedens most popular newspapper with a pathetic attempt to make swedish people interested in tennis once again:

"Söderling to win Australian open next year!"

That was after he had beaten Benneteau in the Lyon final.

That comeback in the second set was . It was Robins fault to let him back in the set, but the main thing is that even on 4-0 it was evident that Marcos did believe that he can catch the Toad. And he did... It is nice to see him going deep, he is an entertainer.

Don't mess with Baggy and the heart bump baby! He was even staring down the Swedish fans, it was awesome! Soderling is a mental midgets. He throws mini tantrums like a 4 year old who just got his favorite toy taken from him. Someone needs to tell that guy to grow up. I understand getting frustrated and wearing your emotions on his sleeve, but it clearly messes with his game. Some guys can get away with letting go of their emotions, Soderling is definitely not one of those guys.

So much for him making a run to the top 10 this year.

Why is it irritating, because it's something he does to pump himself up? Because it's something he does to keep focus to show his fans he's still there? What is so irritating about it really? I think it's great. Baghdatis is a great example of a guy with a huge heart.

Baggy will win against Fishy...of that I am (quite) sure. But his tougher test will be against A Rod...if he comes through that then Miss Bagz fangirl will be very happy  .

jpatatsos
01-21-2009, 09:51 PM
xristos wasn't allowed in .

the line was massive was waiting for two hours outside gate 21 of show court 2 to get in. "baghdatis" was with me the whole day had a fun time and marcos winning made things only sweeter

if only the organisers put marcos on margaret court things wud have been different more fans could support their players.

margaret court was free from 4.30 to 7.30

Haters leave Baggy alone..if it keeps him producing brill tennis then why complain. Loving it

well, that's another way of saying they were completely obnoxious and annoying.Ditto. My friend and I were being paid out by Baghdatis fans. It was clear they were going for the guy who comes from where they come from. omg. cool!

Dear MTF fools*...
-Watch/go to a match before you make a judgement.
-There have been an incredible amount of bad linecalls and overrules for many players here this year.
-Keep an eye on Soderling, his behaviour has improved dramatically [for him]. So he had issues with a linesperson? Big deal.
-Did anybody actually notice his limping or did you all have your head stuck so far up Baghdatis' precious ass that you failed to notice he was hitting without moving his feet, had the trainer on call long after he came out to tend to the blisters but didn't actually use him? Grow up yourselves...and if any of the people sitting behind the umpire at the match are here, go out and buy yourself a sensible haircut and a dictionary.

:wavey:
* Does not include Xristos. I rate Xristos and that Baghdatis fan I sat near last year lol...

Audience involvement in Marcos' matches in Australia is nothing new for the tennis fans. That Marcos comes from where they come from certainly plays the biggest role for them. I have no doubt that they wouldn't cheer for him if Marcos were from UK or let's say Argentina. But, this is a common characteristic of "tennis fans" from small countries. How to put their country on the map is essential to them. Hmmm, most of them fail to recognise that Marcos is the guy who does the donkey work. All the rest, his fans I mean, should feel happy for his run. Definitely happy, not proud though. ;)

Keep going, Marcos! :rocker2:

I guess I prefer Baggy as the guy who can bring his best tennis by smiling his way through a match. It was something unique.
There's something hollow about the gesture itself as well that bugs me. Used to annoy me when Monfils did it all the time too.

But hey, if it works for the big MB then I can cope with it....
