Pretty solid stuff from what I saw especially considering it was his first tour match back from the injury.

rock solid match. schwank was never winning this, it felt like he didn't even try, cruise control for tommy even though he lost his serve a couple of times in the third.

given that tursunov will be exhausted after his five-setter, i'm already smelling an encounter with rafa in the third round. night session, full stadium, no wind - haas will be a force to reckon with under these circumstances. :)

Bit surprising, this one. Schwank and Haas' careers might be going in opposite directions, but Haas really turned back the clock in this one and from what I saw of the third, there was some vintage stuff from the German even as he struggled to close out.

Tommy all teh way, Cipolla has no chance what so ever, and then it is time to demolish the claycourt king

good to see a result like this for the beginning of the tourney :) Cipolla is more than beatable :) I'm glad he stayed focused at the end of the match to close it out!

They both were coming back from injury so it could have gone either way.
Congrats to Haas even though I really wanted Schwanky to win :p

Great stuff from Haas. I would absolutely love to see him school Nadal in the third round and show him how hardcourt tennis should be played. Knowing Haas though, he'll probably burn himself out in an epic five-setter in the second round and get destroyed by the Spaniard.

Haas should be an interesting test to Rafa in round 3.
